In the Feb. issue of MUSCLE CAR Enthusiast . In Readers Speak . A guy ask's why he can't get certain option's like the VVT Hemi with automatic and so on. The Ed. talked to guy from Chrysler said the MDS does not or wouldn't work well with the 6 speed as the computer couldn't or wouldn't know what gear you might shift to and so on. From what was said the 6 speed is geared more toward the perf. buyer with the VVT Hemi and higher perf exhaust . Was a interesting read anyway . Get the magazine and read for your self. It features the Hurst Challenger.

 

Yeah, performance orientation to the manual trans and the computer is not in complete control as in the automatic. I think Ford had a version of MDS for some of its 4.6 L cars but it was never offered on the manual trans Mustang either. For the MDS to work, the computer needs complete control.

 

I just read the Sales broucher . And it list the MDS engine as VVT also . Thanks to another fourm member . But the guy was asking why he couldn't get MDS with 6 speed.
