Default REPLACE STOCK RADIATOR OR NOT?

GREETINGS TO ALL, I HAVE A 2009 CHALLENGER SRT, 6 SPEED, I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT I WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE REPLACEMENT OF THE RADIATOR AND THERMOSTAT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THESE VEHICLES TEND TO RUN HOT, HENCE DEMINISHING PERFORMANCE. I DONT WANT TO REPLACE OR SPEND THE MONEY INTO SOMETHING THAT WILL NOT ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. I WANT TO AWAKEN THE BEAST !!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS OR COMMENTS WILL BE APPRECIATED, THANKS

I would suggest to you that there are a hundred things you could do to enhance performance more than replacing a radiator. I've never heard of that actually. Get yourself a good CAI and couple it with the cat back exhaust of your choice and a predator tune. Then you will see an amazing difference. IMHO.

Depends on where you live and how much HP you plan on. Radiators are expensive and manufacturers tend to get cheap with them, most are of a size that fits cooler weather, they are not really big enough for the Southwest!

I would go with the 180 degree Jet TStat, the CAI (your choice of brand), and the DiabloSport Predator for tuning. Those are probably your best mods - dollar for dollar.
The 6 speed has a very good flowing stock exhaust, so unless you HAVE to have more sound, and a few more ponies, keep the stock system.
As for a radiator - never hear of replacing the stock one. Change the thermostat to the Jet 180 and there should be no need for an expensive radiator replacement.

After that, you're into heads, cam, intake, OR forced induction. And THAT'S a whole lot more money.
Good luck.

I'm not really convinced about the tstat, but I agree with BootCamp on everything else. The Cai and Predator tunes are excellent upgrades at relatively low cost. I got an AFE cai because you don't have to oil the filter as you do on most other systems, and the oil can sometimes mess up the MAF sensor. The exhaust is really good on the stock SRT, and a really good replacement will only net you 12-15 HP and 20 ft/lb on the torque. As for the other stuff, speed costs money. So how fast do you wanna go?

Unless you will be racing your car, there is no need to replace the T-stat and radiator. Replacing them will not make you go any faster. They will just help to prevent a loss of horsepower due to high under-the-hood temperatures.

hey all I'm back ,for some reason couldn't log in for a while thought I got booted for lack of activity.anyway I had a similar question about the thermostat, was wondering if lowering the temp would affect the air to fuel ratio and all that junk, and would t really increase performance.as for the exhaust it was a couple of bux and I never got to dyno but the ZOOMERS is supposed to increase by 30hp and 30ftp,not to mention the sound alone was worth it in my opinion.
