RE: 08 vs 09 SRT
On my car with the remote start, the doors automatically lock. After you unlock the doors, you have to put your foot on the brake and press the button on the dash and that FOB has to be in the car or you won't be able to get the shifter lever out of park. The keyless go is very sensitive to the FOB, it really does have to be in the car.

Everyone without a dash plaque says that. Could it be plaque envy?

they were built on the same line as everything else....no difference in build quality...just a little dash sticker you get for getting an 08 instead of 09...imo

The 08's were as close to being a hand built car as it could be for a factory that size every one was gone over and over to make sure it was right the 09's are a full prod car and they pop them out and ship them right away STS turbo the company that turbo charged my Orange 08 said that my 08 stock testing data and doing the same testing on a stock 09 SRT8 auto that they were working on yesterday my 08 was 1 10th quicker and 2 mph faster in the quarter. Dont know why but the weather was cooler when they tested the Black 09 it should have run quicker and faster. Or it could just be that Orange is faster than Black I do know that the Silver is the slowest of all 3 colors that were build in 08

I'm on the verge of putting a Challenger in my garage. Quite a few '08 SRT's still available around Southern Ontario at what look to be about $2000 (MRSP) less than an '09. This would be auto vs. auto. Other than getting the bugs out, are there any major differences between the cars? Has anybody driven both and notice a big change?

and the issues have been with the new 6 speeds.

Kevin,
If you haven't ever read that little dash plaque, it reads Challenger First Edition Number XXXX-6400. Regardless of the number, the 09's can never, never be a first edition. I'm sure this will be supported by the Official Chrysler or Dodge Registry. I personally don't know which will be more valuable in thirty years from now. These new cars have way more plastic parts and pieces and sensitive electronics. How long these things last will depend on used and storage conditions. Ps, I would lean towards the first edition.

cry me a river shankapotamus..........when they build 365 6.4 l hemis and you buy one I will agree with you...till then I will envy that you probably paid cash for your car and I have to get a loan from a bank which didnt lend me 30k with 780 credit.....oh well....patience is my friend I hope lol..
what's the news with your bros camaro? did he order yet?

RE: 08 vs 09 SRT
It will get much easier to purchase in the next couple weeks. If a 780 fico didnt work for the bank, Chrysler credit should snap that right up. Never recommend lying, but a little added declared income always helps in a credit starved market. Dealers want to move cars so bad, that a simple letter stating added income works.
I bet you are right. Patience will pay. Heck, at 780, I would buy the darn paper! lol
