Mass production my seat cushion, if they want big production #'s they will have to build a V6 version (for the entry level hemi heads) then a 5.7 version (for mild mannered hemi heads) then a 6.1 version (for the more serious boys and girls) then a 6.4 CUDA version (for real muscle hemi heads like me) the 6.4 CUDA may only sell a few hundred units but I would pay $50k for a HEMI Vette eater wouldn't you? Then think of the marketing potential in Nascar, win on sunday sell on monday!!!! By the way can anyone tell me why I am refered to as a slant six member, that is real insulting LOL.
I hate to be disagreeable, well not really, but if the 6.4 puts out 505 HP, don't mess with a new Z06 Vette.

Yes, the Corvette is a mean American Supercar but also has a somewhat exotic price to go with it.

Plus the fact that it only weight 3130 lbs means the power to weight ratio is awesome.

That is why one of my first posts I ever listed was "Why is the Challenger so heavy".

Look at the 0-60 MPH below.

Driven the Vette, a nice car for sure but only 2 seats, not so much a muscle car as a world class sports car though. I am sure that a challenger with the big Hemi would give it a good go in the quarter mile.
Now if you are talking about the Corvette Blue Devil (750HP) factory supercar that has been testing in Germany at the Nurburgring, then yes that will kick just about any cars butt.

Well an article from the Toronto Star really doesn't tell us any more that what most of us know.

However, 50K Challengers per year sure sounds like a lot of cars for a limited edition V-8.

Any thoughts?

"DaimlerChrysler, which has experienced a resurgence in recent years, wants to make a decision on the new vehicles this summer.

DaimlerChrysler is considering building a minivan for Volkswagen in Windsor starting in July 2008 and the Dodge Challenger sports car in Brampton in April the same year, according to the internal document.

The company is also looking at its operations in St. Louis to assemble both new vehicles.

The document, obtained by the Toronto Star, says DaimlerChrysler estimates annual production of 50,000 Challengers and an investment of $145 million (U.S.) to ready the model.

DaimlerChrysler is still trying to establish a business case for the Challenger, which created a buzz at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January."

50K Challengers per year gives me hope that not all of them will be $40,000+ Super Cars for the wealthy. I'm looking to spend $35,000 and some younger buy should be able to buy a $28,000 Challenger. 50K a year should afford drive train and trim choices.
