Why not just splurge a few grand more to get an SRT with no options? The R/T will easily be $5-$6K more expensive than a 2008 Mustang GT and slower 0-60. Everything I've read says "under 6 seconds". When they were referring to the SRT the company line was "under 5 seconds". Today, we all know that translates into 4.7 seconds (at best). So, can we assume the R/T will be 5.7 seconds? [:@]

Any one know the invoice price for a 2009 Challenger SRT 8 with all options except the sunroof?

Thanks
$36,603 (Auto) or $37,242 (6-speed)

PLUS:

Perf tires $92.00
MyGig $1141 (or $819 with SRT Group II)
SRT Group II $961.00

Striipe del. - $230

PLUS destination $675 ($725 Hawaii)

PLUS GG Tax $2163 (auto) or $1803 (6-speed)

I just received my "official" price from the dealer on my Challenger:

2009 SRT8
Hemi Orange
6 Speed
Option Pack II
Perf Tires

No MyGIG, No Sunroof, Kept the stripes, and adding in all of the Tax, Title, desitination and of course Gas Guzzler tax, grand total:

$42, 840

I did put $1000 down so it actually comes in less than I had expected. Now I can add the following (supercharger to come later or next year) and still be under what I had thought it would be:

Premium Floor Mats
Polished Door Sills
Cold Air Package
Car Cover

Why not wait on the actual 0-60 times for the 5.7 6-speed. I willing to bet its closer to 5.0 to 5.1. 375 hp and a stout rear gear will translate into some quick 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. So I'm willing to wait and see. I get the feeling I'll be dragging this post up and using it as I told you so

I just ordered a 09 R/T in Hemi Orange, 5.7 hemi, auto trans, 20"chrome clad wheels, customer perferred pkg "J " , Electronics Convenience Group, performance tires, spare tire, R/T hood to fender stripe, Dark / Light slate greay leather seats. Now all this for MSRP of $35,025 and the dealer said he might be able to discopunt that $300 to $500 but I honestly doubt that. In any case I think thats pretty well loaded close to a SRT8 ...no My Gig, no Sirius, no Sound group I or II, no HID, and no block heater.Thats " IF " i get that is with all the problems I've read on this forum I have my doubts.[sm=headbang.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif] But come late Aug or Sept sometime I'll be happy to drive it off the dealers lot you can bet !!!!!!!!!!!!!![sm=gears.gif]
I am not sure you should be so happy. A 2008 SRT with more options and, let us not forget, a much more powerful engine is only about $2,000 more. Figure in the 6.1L engine and the options you are missing and the 08 is a much better deal. I will admit, there are a few people paying ridiculous pricing for the 08s, but if you look through this forum, I would say most are getting just as good a deal, if not better, than the 09 buyers.

Good luck to all on your orders and may we see them soon,

Dave

brucer41,
Unless youre getting a substantial discount below MSRP, I think you may have missed something.
I ordered the same car in black and the MSRP is $43,535.00 - right where I guessed it would be.
Thats before title, tags, inspection and sales tax too.

SRT8 base price........$39,320
6 speed Tremec........$ 695
Perf Tires................$ 100
SRT Option Group II..$ 1,045
Gas Guzzler Tax........$ 1,700
Destination Charge....$ 675
Total.....................$43,535.00

Add sales tax, title, registration and inspection to that total....

No idea - yet.
When Dodge finally comes out with the pricing they were supposed to have out this past Thursday, you can calculate the cost by multiplying the MSRP with all options and destination charges included at 93% and you should be close.
I would expect anyone getting an 09 for MSRP would be happy after all of the gouging for the 08s.
Happy hunting.
After getting my invoice from my dealer, I stand corrected. The actual invoice to MSRP is 93.78%, so I was a hair off.

Dave, you got a good deal on your car. With the increase in price for 09, the 08 SRTs were a good value, even with a little markup. I am sure many here would love to have the 08 SRT, even with the automatic.

But you seem like you are out to show how nobody but 08 SRT buyers is getting a good deal, which is just not the case. The 2K difference you list is misleading. An 08 SRT is 5K more, assuming you got it at MSRP. 37320 MSRP + 675 Destination +2100 Gas guzzler = 40,095.

lear4406..
I think youre right in the ballpark with your 0-60 expectations.
The 09 R/Ts with the improved 5.7L 375 hp 6 speed should suffer less parasitic loss than the 5 speed automatics. Im guessing ~ 5.3 - 5.4 0-60 times.
Again, I think times will improve with the 09 6.1L SRTs for the same reason. Im expecting a solid 4.7 from the 6 speed version. THAT oughta snap my head back.
