Default 2009 Dealer Allocations

On another site, I read that allocations of the 2009 SRT Challengers will be based on how many 2008 Challengers each dealer has sold. (Note- That is supposedly why some dealers are making "straw purchases" of the SRTs and are using the names of employees to buy them).

This does not make sense to me because only 6,400 2008s will be built and no one dealer could sell a quantity of them (there are over 3,400 Dodge dealers). I would think that the majority of the 2009 SRTs would be allocated to those 5-Star Dodge dealers that sold the largest number of SRTs (all models) in 2008.

Do you guys agree?

Yea, how can you compete with only 6,400 built?

I wouldn't worry too much about there being "allocations" for '09s. The way I understand it, Dodge aims to build pretty much to order. Hence, dealers that have more orders for '09s naturally would get more cars than would dealers with few orders.
