Ok so if the SEs are in fact late availability, do we even know what that means? Production on 09s is supposed to start in august right? So does late availability mean. . . november? Or March? I know they slapped that late availability thing on the B5 blue and also said that it wont' be available until spring.

Talked with my dealer this afternoon and he confirmed that the SE and RT's will be made later (he didnt know when 'later' was exactly) as Chrysler wants to be able to offer the variable displacement engines in them. His dealership was told that the first SRT's off the line were going to people that ordered 08's but missed the 6400 cutoff. No real numbers or time but he did say that my 09 would probably be a mid September delivery and I was the number 1 order for an 09 from all four of the dealerships they own.

Yeah, cuda, that's why I refuse to get involved in speculation about production. When my car shows up, it shows up.

Roswell, thats the attitude one needs to take. Anyone who sets thier mind to a specific delivery is likely to get dissappointed. I believe patience will be key in retaining ones sanity...

My SRT8 is in BG/BX and has been since I ordered it late June. I really hope it waits till may to come at this point since I wont get it till fall at best. I just want a heads up a few weeks in advance so I can get my financing and downpayment in order.

Your dealer's information does not make sense. The SE model will have the 3.5 six cylinder motor - period. What "variable displacement" motor is he talking about? The 5.7 litre hemi in the "R/T" model has a cylinder deactivation feature.

I don't know what to believe about what will be available when. I talked to a dealer last week who said he would get 10 R/T's this week. He e-mails me today and says he has 6 in route and 4 of them are already sold. He's trying to get me to buy one of the other 2 which may not even exist. He's a car salesman ya know. So far we have only talked through e-mail so Saturday I'm going to show up on their lot annonamously and ask about the Challenger just to see if he is blowing smoke up my butt or not. If he is he's lost a potential customer. I seriously think you can get more accurate info right here than any dealer actually knows. I know the Dodge dealer here in town asks me for updates. sad
