6.4 .... how do you feel? (08/09 owners)
I think they now really need to come out with the 6.4 , espically now that the Shelby GT has 540HP !!! I wouldn't be mad at all ... 425hp is more then enough for miami crusing , but I would love to see an even bigger hemi ! What does everyone here think?
PS : What is Fiat?

Never met a cubic inch I didn't like. How much is the Shelby going to sell for? You could get 600+ out of the 6.1 for $10k. I bet you can't get that Shelby for less than $60k since everyone is betting Carroll kicks the bucket soon which will make everything Shelby double in value. Sad but true.

As for Fiat, that is our hope that Chrysler will survive and I hope it works and then I hope the Challenger is still around.

If they do come out with a 6.4 or anything else that makes 500-600hp, they will have some serious thinking to do about upgrading the transmissions, driveshafts, differentials, and axles. Take a look around the LX forums. Some of those guys have become pretty good at breaking driveline parts! Personally, I think somewhere around 500hp is the threshold with the current driveline setup.

Personally I'll be very surprised if the 6.4 ever sees the light of day. I hope I'm wrong... guess we'll see.

As much as I'd like to see it happen, I don't think we'll see the 6.4. There are a lot of other driveline components that need to be changed to accept the torque and Chrysler just doesn't have the capital to do it. They are in survival mode, and this is the reason they nixed the convertible which frankly would make a heck of a lot more sense commercially.
As for Fiat, from someone who goes back to the day it is

At least Chrysler will get access to their European dealers and hopefully become less dependent on the North American market. I hope the make it.

Quite honestly, I hope it doesn't see the light of day for purely selfish reasons. The value of our cars is tanking bad enough without that.
