RE: 8% price increase..what?
Well it's a whole lot of car and I wasn't going to wait around for news like there goinna gouge the 09' because I think all SRT models will be gouged which is why I just got a brawn new 08 and paid 9 over sticker. I have a feeling 09 is not going to be different. The economy is fucked up and dealers want there dough. And when people are willing to pay 60-70k for the car then to most dealers it seems stupid to sell it for 40 or under.

Have you heard that the internals of the 6 speed tranny is not the same as the vipers? That they can bearly hold the 425 hp now with out burning out clutches. If true no performance upgrades intil sorted out. Jim

Yes, there will be an increased by the dealers... I received an email from Cerritos Dodge here in SoCal. The stated that the 2009 Dodge Challenger models will be coming out very soon and they are taking deposits. The Challenger SE will start at the $21,995 + $2,000 above MSRP, R/T $29.995 + $4,000 above MSRP, and the SRT $41,695 + $8,000 above MSRP. This is total bullcrap!!! I'll stop here. [:@] [>:]

Then they will add a 10% rebate to fool foolish customers into thinking they got a good deal. They need to set realistic prices like the good car companes do (Toyoto,Honda,Nissan).

Sorry... never owned a one of them... never will. At least if I have anything to say about it... largely due to political and economic factors. Prefer to keep as much of our money and employment here as I reasonably can thank you.

I would think that's not true, or else they couldn't still call it the TR6060. If it has different components, it's a different transmission. Perhaps it's a connection/transfer problem you're hearing. I remember hearing I think sometime at the beginning of the year about dodge testing the 6-speed and they were blowing out the rear ends, but I've also read that they've since fixed that problem.

i've also heard that the prices will be up for the 09 and that the Challenger wasn't priced right from the go which is why the heavy markups took place??

Everything has been go up like crazy. Inflation is higher than I ever remember it being... EVER! Prices are out of control including fundementals like food, gas, shelter, etc, etc.. Everyone is going to have to raise costs just to try to keep up... which adds to inflation. Will probably take a little time to shake out and settle down, but sooner or later it will.

The 2008 was set for a 6 speed but the tranny wouldn't match up to the horse power and torque. That's why I decided against the 2009. Dodge was having a hard enough time getting the auto's to match up. They held up production to reflash all the computers before delivery at the end of May. I hope they fixed the 6 speed problems they were having on test cars.
