That does bring up a good question though. Which color removes heat better? You might think that the black would have a higher emmisivity and radiate heat faster. and don't think it doesn't help. Most weekend drag racers ice down the inlet manifold between runs to get more air mass into the engine.

 

If you watch the Powerblock they will tell you black is the better way to keep the engine cooler.

But I prefer that brushed aluminum look myself, even if it is hotter.

 

Orange is easily the most powerful, I have the broken parts to prove it.

 

I'm with you Jeremiah. I like the aluminum too. By the way, is that your "other" Challenger in the pic?

 

so the answer to my original question is that it is the intake manifold? How are theese painted?

 

Any time you paint metal, it is not going to dissapate heat as well, stick with aluminum(bare)!

 

stick with whatever you want....whatever you think is best...
