Default Cabin Filter

I've no idea why the Challenger has a slot but no cabin filter. Anyone know if any other LX platform cabin filter will fit the 2008/09 Challenger?

My dealership pointed it out to me when I picked up the car.

Open the hood, on the left hand side all the back near the windshield. There is a small black plastic door that you can remove. The head tech when I got my car said the Charger and 300 had a cabin filter in there..

Don't know about the R/T but it is there on the SRT.

It's mentioned in the owners manual (I read the .pdf one off Dodges site.) For you guys who already have a Challenger, look on page 310 of your manual. It talks about the cabin filter (if equipped). Sounds like the 08s didnt come with them. I figured the top of the line SRT8 would have them. Guess not. Pretty sure a Charger or 300 filter would work.

Yes, it in the manual but not the car. I felt sure the SRT8 model would have one. Guess they were watching the weight..

I noticed the same thing. I think more than a filter is needed. On my jeep there was a kit to install. It was an easy install. We need to find out if we can install one on our car.

Hmmm, that is very interesting. I am thinking that a filter might be nice. But maybe there are cool things to be done with a filter. Perhaps we could get an activayed carbon filter to remove odors (although I love that new car smell and don't let anyone smoke in it). But hey, perhaps they could be scented; you know - aromatherapy for muscle cars. You could have ocean scent for those land locked folks like myself in Colorado; mountian fresh scent for those on the coasts. But of course, the most popular will be burnt rubber for that drag racing mood...

That would save me from having to hang my head out the window during burnouts!!

Lot of agriculture around here, and MAN when time comes for fertilizing, it reeks! I read about the filter awhile back and was thrilled. Now you guys are saying it isnt there? Man I wish Dodge would read their own service manuals! (bah)
