Yeah I know what you mean. My one cousin's house is practically a Coca-Cola trademark museum. Its everywhere in her house. The stools, the wallpaper, the tables, the ceiling fans, you name it.
So you also liked the Simpsons did you?

I didn't let my guys watch it when they were little because it was a bad show for little kids. But when they got older, I let them watch it.
Myself, I have only watched about 5 episodes in total and luckily it was the X-files and Star Trek episodes. They were funny.

Yeah those were good episodes. I liked it but we didn't get Fox very well back then (and my parents still don't get it very well). Now I can watch it via the DVDs or on Satellite or Cable. I wish my parents would break down and get either satellite or cable. They only get NBC (the only show on there that we like is the Tonight Show with Jay Leno), PBS (which none of us like), and the CW (not much on there either no offense TechmanBD).
My parents didn't really care very much either way about my brother or I watching that show. My dad always liked it. They knew I'd be seeing it when I went to my friends' house so they let me watch it, but it wasn't until about 1995 before I started watching it.

what we have found, is that your uber-expensive diecasts, from like the danbury mint, are expensive now, and will be valuable in the future...however, what we see alot of is that the cars that are REALLY valuable now are the ones that were very cheap back in the 60s or 70s. people would buy them for their kids to play with, and im sure you all remember, hot wheels get destroyed when youre playing with them...thus making them harder to find, and more valuable to a collector when in good shape.
so what we do is buy cars that are fairly inexpensive now, and they make for a nice looking collection for the time being, but it will take some time and patience before they are worth anything.

Hmm, never really thought of it that way. It'll be interesting to see how much this stuff will be worth in the future.

one thing..i collect dodge mirada stuff. when hot wheels offered the "mirada stocker" in 1980, most people probably didnt even know what it was...there was nothing special about the car then or now, except to myself, and other mirada or hot wheel collectors. today, the mirada stock, mint on mint card, may go for as high as 40-50 bucks on ebay...many of them have the original store price tag on them...typically 49-99 cents...and if you get into old cars, like the redlines, the prices are unbelievable!
My goal is to acquire every mirada item available back then. thus far, we have about 30 loose mirada stockers, 7 or so mint on mint card, 4 or 5 mint on card, the original car and driver introducing the mirada review (in which it was pitted against the 80 supra!) a few other loose articles, a hot wheels lunchbox thermos which has the mirada stocker on it, and a hot wheels carrying case with the mirada stocker. the two items which we are missing are the mysterious blue mirada (the stockers were only sold in red, gold, and yellow, but this all blue mirada stocker came in one of those track play sets), and the hot wheels "Stocker" coloring book. Ive never seen the coloring book, but i have spoken to someone who has, and it had the mirada on the cover, with "many mirada pictures inside". ive never seen it, and i feel that this wil be by far the most difficult to obtain.
i actually know a few other mirada collectors, all of which have modified miradas....so, we put together a nice looking little spare room full of cars from various stores, and we typically dont spend more than 10 bucks a piece, even on the bigger cars...and down the road, they will gain value, and who knows what will end up being "the next redline".

Wow that is a good business to get into. When I get the space to store this stuff, I'll have to consider doing the same. Thanks for sharing that. You must really like Mirada's a lot.

I think that the mirada is cool, and i get tons of compliments on it...when i show up to a mopar event, oddly a 12 second mirada turns peoples heads...say that someone has a 10 second charger, so does everyone else...
but people notice such an odd, big car, going so fast...
when amanda and i were at the nationals this year, i was talking to someone about mirada fenders that he was trying to sell, and he said to me "there used to be a guy who ran the nationals and classic events with a white mirada, running a hemi super stock hood...big guy, i think that his name was patrick, he was running a small block and was in the low 13s..im hoping to get my mirada running that well"...
