Heard it on a Toronto radio station today..............................

Challenger production to start June 2008!

Today,Tony Van Alphen, a respected business writer for the Toronto Star sent me a reply to my inquiry.....

Dom:

Subject: Chrysler staff urged to okay cuts

Todays Toronto Star has an article by Tony Van Alphen,

I would like to question one of the statements written in the article and
to ask for more clarification.

The article in question is "Chrysler staff urged to okay cuts."

In the article, Tony Van Alphen states that the 2008 Dodge Challenger car
will begin production at the Brampton assembly plant in June.

Would Tony please expand on this statement since many members on
Dodgechallenger.com website have anxiously awaited hearing confirmation of
production start-up.

Looking forward to your response.

P.S. This would also make a great article to be published in the Toronto
Star Wheels section since there are many car enthusiasts who are dreaming
of buying this retro-styled Dodge Challenger.

Might be a fluke, just something to throw us off the trail, or they could be holding them till the release date. Then again with safety testing and bonding all of these different technologies, they may need time to get it right.

I think you should ask that business writer for a another clarification. The way his original story is written, it's talking about June -- which would mean June 2007. Now he's saying June 2008. Either he got confused when he answered your e-mail or his original story was wrong -- in which case the paper should correct it. Either that or there's now some sort of delay in the production, which may not bode well for us.

I talked to the sales manager at Tower Chrysler in Calgary, Alberta Canada yesterday and he said that they would recieve them in August. This supports the Toronto Star article. Does not macth the countdown timer though. Got me. They took my deposit though for a 2009 convertible at MSRP.

Big Mag, is that this coming August when they're supposed to get the cars or August 2008? This August would be what young Mr. CoolestChallenger was told. August 2008 would match what the Toronto business writer seems to indicate in his e-mail.

That confirms my belief that car dealers are brain dead (present company excluded). How can you take someone's cash for something that does not exist and is not, by all accounts, even on the drawing board?
