I'm curious if there has been a confirmed release date or planned release date from Chrysler for the Challenger SRT-8?

 

i dont know if the actual release date for the challenger in general has been made official...?

 

We still don't know if the 2008 Challenger will only be an R/T model.

An SRT, from all reports, is definitely in the works for 2009- with a possible 6.4 Hemi.

That is the year that the Challenger is going head-to-head with the high-powered Camaro.

I just pulled out my buyers order from the local Dodge dealer here in Colorado and it described what I ordered as an "2008 SRT-8, 6.1 engine Challenger". There was no mention of an RT. When I deposited on it earlier this year, they told me that this fall, they would call me to come in and fill out a color and option sheet. They indicated a Spring '08 delivery. I would hope they knew what they were talking about. When that happens, I will let everyone know about what is available.

 

I think maybe we can look back a year or two for the answer to this one. Anybody know what the release was like for the Charger and Charger SRT-8? Weren't both versions released in 2006? This was a brand new vehicle and also produced at the same assembly plant as the Challenger, right? So, does anybody know the release dates were for the Charger and Charger SRT-8?

 

I know that this is gonna sound awful, but i'm new to the dodge line-ups. Could someone tell me the difference between the R/T and the SRT-8........

 

Yes , we all have known about the countdown clock since day one. That clock is for the unveiling of the production version of what it looks like.

Between now and then in several of the shows they are supposed to be making slight changes to the concept car as it travels around ( even thought
I haven't seen any).

The original question was about the SRT-8 specifically and of course that has not been announced yet.

I have not read anything that says that the countdown is for all announcements of course I am sure some will be made.
