I guess as long as there are people willing to take the price gouging by paying over sticker price for a new vehicle, then dealers will continue to do it. I just think it's shady business practices to do this on a new vehicle, but Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth dealers have done it for years. All you have to do is look back to the Viper, SRT-10 Ram and Prowler releases. I just have to laugh though when one year later, these same people who paid over sticker price are complaining about depreciation.

 

Last year, I paid over sticker (and a gas guzzler tax) to get one of the first SRT8 Chargers in Denver. I don't like paying over as much as the next guy but if you want it, and you want it quick, this is the game you have to play. I'm going to be selling the Charger soon before winter hits and I will be luck to get 75% of what I paid for it. I understood this from the get go. Being in my 50's, I have been blessed with the ability to pay these kinds of prices for these kinds of cars. The Challenger will probably be my last hurrah before acting my age and buying a Cadillac. Money talks. It always has.

 

Who care what anybody else thinks, you act the way you want to and don't worry about what others think.

BTW, you can do better than a Cadillac.

From an official Dodge Forum....this is for everyone who is blowng smoke about already fronting monies for the Challenger.

 

I guess my question is what would keep any dealership from holding your money even thougth it is not Dodge authorized?

 

Which forum are you referring to, I am not aware of any "official" Dodge forums.

 

I have heard that the Challenger would start production in March 2008 with the SRT8 and 6.1 liter engine (LC series). The 2009 Challenger production will start in in July 2008.
