Challenger T/A history
FYI.... panther pink was a mid-model year intro color, and while it's viewed as very desireable now, it wasn't that popular when new, especially since it wasn't available for the full model year. The Trans Am cars were also a one-year only option because that's all ma Mopar sponsored any teams for.... they pulled out of the series because it wasn't that successful a venture for them, as did Ford.
For those interested in a little more of the history on the Trans Am cars, Speed channel is rerunning:

Now we can all see WHY the pink combination was so rare. I'm sorry, but that's a truly horrible color scheme. But what do I know? My wife is already frowning about the prospect of having a Plum Crazy '08 sitting in the driveway, if that color is offered.
