Sounds like a realistic price possibility.

it will be interesting...you have to consider a few things in guessing at the price of a 6.4L powered challenger..

its at least 75 more horsepower than the srt8 LX cars, and the price of those range from 38-43k. the 8.3L viper had similar power to the 6.4L, and it was 80k. the GT500 has similar power, and carries an MSRP of 40,000, but they are going for way more than that. also, while it would be nice to think that the 6.4L challenger would be priced like the GT500, that means it would cost less than the 300C srt8, and i dont forsee that happening...

but who knows..dodge could decide that they want to steal back the pony market like they did in the late 60s, and release a bargain car like the roadrunner was back then...

however, im not holding my breath on that.

I'm not either. The fact is this platform which they are using is an expensive one to build. I wish they would have used a different platform for this that wasn't as expensive to build (seriously updated yet shortened LH-platform utilizing the RWD capabilities it had). I don't think that a $50K Challenger will threaten the sales of the updated Viper. The GTO didn't threaten the sales of the Vette despite the fact that they had the exact same powertrain.

Don't expect Dodge to fulfill Plymouth's role. This is why I think they need to revive Plymouth. They need to make a more plain model for people who don't care about technology or luxuries but just want a good looking, muscle car.

You know, I wonder what Dodge could do to make the 6.1L more powerful.

I know, what I mean is I'm thinking along the lines of Direct Injection and stuff like that. Direct Injection would should improve fuel economy as well as improve the hp & tq output.

Well I'm in regardless. Going to sell two cars, Toyota and Cobolt. Sell the first and only kid and downsizing the house if I have too. I may even have a look at those old bonds I've had in closet for 10 or 15 years.

Well, we were putting money away for it, but when I came across the demon, i had a moment of weakness...so how much i want it will be depending on price...if the price of the car is ridiculous, we will probably get an CSRT8 instead.
