Default Don't think I want to be first in line.

Sorry for not posting much. Been just reading the forum mostly.
I like it seems some of you are willing to wait for a time before buying any car.
That and the fact that my 1971 Challengers and now the trailer eats up any extra funds I have.
Hate to say this but I may not be able to get my new Challenger for some time. Thats just the facts I must face.
I does get me down some but thats the way it is folks. I know some can relate to this problem.

It would not be so bad if I was not OBSESSED WITH THE DODGE CHALLENGER.

Just some thoughts.

Dave

I understand. like i said in another thread, i dont know that i want to pay a higher price, or even go to any great length to get one of the first challengers, because it wont be a collectible for me...it will be a toy...i dont have a problem with ordering one once the initial rush has let off.

myself even thought I seem to have the money and definetly have all the excitment to get one immediatly I guess I have to wait... I've got to variables that can change from now until they release it.... 1.- the fact that the 1st production models will have some areas of opportunity that will improve as the project moves along... 2nd - I just got married and still I'm not sure if all my budgets are accurate you know?.... as of last week I didn't know how much was the milk, chicken ( all groceries).....and we're investing money in the house that I have no idea how much will be.....

so even that I'm positive that I'll get one, well.... I guess I have to be little bit patience.

I'll try to be one of the first in line, but I may not be one of the first to buy. It's going to be up to the dealers.

Although I can't wait to get behind the wheel of a new Challenger, if the dealers are looking for a premium over list price I'll pass for awhile. Prices should normalize after the first wave of sales. I'm planning to keep this vehcle for as long as I can drive, so I guess I can wait a bit longer if necessary.

Quality doesn't seem to be the problem today as it was when I bought my '70 Challenger. So I'm not concerned about getting a new model.

honestly, im more worried about buying a new car than i am buying a used muscle car...there is so much stupid little electrical issues that COULD go wrong...ill take a simple MSD system and a carb over FI and an ECU anyday

Besides the new manufacturing process, there are are always minor design flaws that are improved and fixed after the initial release. So I will wait.

Personally, I will be happy when dodge adds the build your own feature on the wesite for the challenger. That way I can see every color and option I want and dont want and daydream the until the day I get my own. Also I can't wait to see the aftermarket parts for performance and aesthetic applications.

Buy North American, Buy North American, keep the economy rolling and your neighbors employed, just don't get too crazy. I think the first few cars will go at full pop since DCX will be wanting to get them on the road ASAP (used SRT8's-300's, Magnums and Chargers are still getting good money here in the great white north about 90% of original list) but as far as crazy $ above list I din't think so maybe an extra $1000.00 but that should be about all.
Enjoy the car and be happy you are keeping people employed here in North America.

If that's the case, then I'll have to buy a Toyota Tundra, since a goodly number of my neighbors right here in San Antonio now are making them.

You could but then what will you do with it? I hear the engines make good rice cookers (they run hot and sludge up) and they now have a payload of what, 150lbs?

no one makes a pick up better than the NA manufacturers, my company has tried them all and they are all lacking except the Big 3.
