Edmunds recently rated the Tundra higher than the Silverado. MT couyld cover the tundra in the TOTY article because of timing issues. But edmunds said the Tundra was better by the slimmest of margins, and seeing as the silverado does not have its 6 speed available yet, they might just be evenly matched.

That is all it is for most of Detroit vs. Japan is in the transmissions. From what I have observed, Toyota's past trucks haven't been as reliable as what everyone says. They also don't hold up to the abuse a NA made truck will. Toyota's latest transmissions haven't been the best in terms of reliability and some of there latest engines haven't been the best either. I'd go with the Ram first and maybe the Silverado if you need a truck, RoswellGrey.

The Toyota Tundra commercial on the Super Bowl was real impressive.

Someone used that commercial for my Consumer Behavior class today. Commercials are supposed to look impressive. The question is how it racks up to its competition in the long run. Right now they have the advantage because they just got a refresh, but Dodge will probably get one in a couple of years since it is the oldest.

The dokata is a "updated" model for 2008.

Every review I hear about the Tundra says it is a nice truck.... until you get to the interior. But as their first true "full size" truck ( I say this because it supposed to the same size as an F-150 if not bigger i didnt consider anything below that size full size) I am taking marketing classes as well. Toyota is trying to position their product as the superior truck on the market and the commericals are supposed to help them get a differation in "the consumers mind". But the two commericals of stopping down hill and driving through a closing metal gate are very impressive .

Their attempting to one up Ford's commercials. Their trying to set a new benchmark. The Ram is the model from Dodge that will compete against the Tundra; therefore, the mildly refreshed Dakota does not matter. Although the older Tundra might have competed against the Dakota but not this model.

The simple fact is Toyota hasn't proven that this is unique to their product. They have just proven that they can do this is all.

I know. I was just showing the "refreshed" dakota pics I found on edmunds. Trucks like the tacoma, frontier, and colorado/canyon are more in the dakota's class. And at this rate of the cars in the dodge lineup will be new or significantly refreshed by 2009-10.

Okay we're getting far off topic, but I'll end to say that from what the rumors claim, the HEMI at around 09 is supposed to be significantly improved and there is a rumored 6-speed auto. I hope we see this in the Challenger.

You can't be first in line, because I am!!!
Well, first in line at the #3 Dodge store on the planet, so maybe that makes me third in line???
