I heard after they build the 6400 SRT-8's, they are only going to build the R/T's and V-6 for the rest of the year. That is what my dealer is telling me, due to the current gas situation.

 

The ad was also listed as a 2009 - whats the deal with that??

A factory worker posted on allpar that when the workers return from the factory closedown in mid-July, they will start building the 3.5L SE Challengers first, followed by the R/Ts, and then the SRTs. Previously, the R/Ts were scheduled first and then the SRTs.

With all of the SRT pre-orders, there is NO WAY that Dodge would not build any in 2009.

 

That is exactly what I thought too! I guess anyone who placed orders for the 2009 SRT-8 with 6 Speed will have a longer wait than those who are still waiting on their '08's

 

How can a dealer be selling an 09? The first post for eBay says its an 09. Excuse me if I missed something but it seems I read a post about a week ago that Brampton had built a few 09's to pilot the assembly for fitting etc. So how did this guy get an 09 to sell? If in fact it is a dealer, I would wonder if in fact it is an 08 or rather than 09 and they typo'ed the wrong year.

 

... or possibly an ignorrant dealer who is really thinking he's got an '09...

 

Italian Ebay has two Challengers...at 59000 to 60000 Euro. For folks not up on your currency exchange rates that is over $96,000 US!
