Default First three challengers to be auctioned off / SRT8 Details

If all the details are accurate.. Dodge just confirmed the 2008 SRT8 Challenger will have the 6.1 Hemi, along with a 5-speed automatic.

With that info out there, it seems these are the options for 2008
-Only an SRT8 model will be available for 2008
-If there is a 2008 R/T, it will get the 5.7

2009 could mean a 6.4 Hemi in the SRT8, with hopefully the R/T getting an upgrade to the 6.1

An SRT8 Challenger with the 6.1 sounds plenty good to me, it would mean the R/T will get the 5.7, and therefore helping the "Base Hemi (R/T)" hold true to the long time statements of "Under $31,000" for a Hemi Challenger.

I'm worried this means only SRT8 models for 2008, high price tag to begin with, even higher dealer mark up. Many might have no choice but to wait for 2009 models if they dont want to pay 40-50k msrp for a first year Challenger.
