I called Customer Service, yesterday, to find out the status of my May 16 2009 SRT order (800-992-1997). Note- All you need is your VON number.

I discovered that many of us, myself included, have gone from BX (order accepted ready for scheduling to BG (ordered accepted not available for scheduling). This is because of the monthly SRT allocations that the dealers receive. If a large dealer took 25 orders for SRTs, for example, in May and received only received 10 SRTs allocation for June, he would only be able to fill 10 orders and the remaining 15 would revert to BG status until next month's allocation. How many of you guys have experienced this problem?

 

Same here. Went from BX to BG.
Funny but the original order was placed on May 12th, and modified on May 19th.... and theres insufficient allocation?

It depends on how many orders your dealer had in BX status on May 16. For example, if he had 8 in BX status but only hd a June allocation for 4 SRTs, you would not be covered if you were not one of the top four (time wise). Hopefully, everyone who ordered early, including me, will be covered by their dealer's July allocation.

 

This was just posted on redletterdodge by Bob Frederick (dealer):

"All SRT8’s went to BG Status yesterday. That is normal. August scheduling is complete, that is the reason. August was a “Bonus Month” for us to begin with because SRT production was initially set to begin September 8th. The fact that they scheduled a few is a great head-start.
All SRT’s should go back to BX the 2nd week of July to be available for schedule for September production."

This makes me a lot less anxious!

August scheduling is complete? What does that mean exactly? I've been sitting in BG since I ordered my '09 SRT four weeks ago, yet my sales manager told me he had 4 allocations for July and 6 for August....and I'm the 2nd '09 order he took at the dealership. Any thoughts?

 

Not exactly sure, but I assume it means only a few SRT8s will be made in August, and if youre not in C or D status now, your car won't be built until September. My guess is that the biggest dealers with the largest allocations (based on sales) will have a handful of SRT8s built in August. The rest of the dealerships (smaller) and their customers will have to wait for Septembers production, again, depending on allocation for each dealership.
We"ll know by the third week of July - when the plant is closed for two weeks.

 

I'm not sure what your salesman is telling you. Dealerships will not know their July SRT allocation (for the September build) until the 1st or 2nd week in July. Same thing with the August allocation (for October).
