I am no expert, but that looks more like a metal failure than a power break of the shaft. This is a problem on other LX cars. I suppose that there have been discussions about the after market upgrade. Those are expensive and a big deal to install at home. My 2 cents is that Dodge should offer us all an upgrade.

it definitly didnt twist. looks like it just sheard right off. anyone know if its cast or forged? looks cast to me. vynle

Cast. No doubt about it. This is, after all, a mass-production item.

$40 G's... I wish! I felt honoured to get mine at $65 G Can. First two I looked at were $80 G's. Damn thing is built here too. Why we pay so much more I have not been able to figure out. We're suckers I guess. I sympathize with anyone who doesn't know how to look after a car themselves though. Going the dealer route sure does suck. Just my opinion.
