RE: OMG Test Mule
Are those hood pins in disguise?

Hey don't worry guys, its for testing purposes. They have to do this to get started on the test they need on the frontend. Brake ducts and such for the difference in the fenders and hood. You bolt it to an existing body and go test. The reason for the cover could be a number of things.

RE: OMG Test Mule
What ever it may be under the cover I can tell you this much, a co-worker of mine who's sister inlaw works at the Bramalea plant in Ontario where the Chally is slated to begin life has said they are already starting to make the nesassary changes to the line that are needed to run the new model. The biggest challenge they are up against is trying to carry out the changes without upsetting the production of mainly the Charger, wich she says they can barely keep up with at the moment. Just amagine the exitement in a place like that, it would be pretty sweet getting to see the birth of the Challenger through the variuos stages of intergration needed to bring it to reality.

RE: OMG Test Mule
Dude thats a SRT-8 Charger.... Come on..
As the article stated, the nose bolted to the Charger body is to test airflow / aerodynamics. You can clearly see here that the panels don't line up smoothly - the Charger doors stick out more than the Chally fender where they meet, so I believe that there was never an intent to make this look like the production Challenger will when ALL of the body panels are completed and on the chassis. As stated, this is only as test mule.
The mule looks like what we all said we expected to see (so far, anyway) with the wheel and tire size change for clearance. (I'd like to see the same style wheels and brake calipers we saw on the concept).
Still wouldn't hurt my feelings if they changed the rear taillights to look more like the 1973 Challenger. I know, I'm asking for trouble saying that.......... Sorry. I think that's a much more aggressive look, and quite worthy of the new car.
