Production dates
If they actually have a "real" 2008 model ordered for you, you will have an order status code and preferrably a VIN. If you just have an order status code, or nothing at all, I would almost guarantee you will be out of luck until the 2009's arrive.
Check your dealer, or better yet Dodge, for status code. If you have a status code "C" I believe you are in good shape from my experience in dealing with staus codes. Nobody will have a VIN code until the car is in production.

We have an invoice that lists all the specs like the one on allpar.com, except it has this and a few other things such as our dealership address:
VIN
lists VIN code, don't have in front of me)
If you want to list it as a VIN or a VON it's up to you.

VON=Vehicle Order Number 8 digits assigned by Chrysler when order is entered into order system
the two are very different things... the "Invoice" you are referring to is a vehicle order detail and clearly states "this is not an invoice" at least two different places on the document...I have a hunch that the dealer principal would be torqued off if you have been invoiced for a car that hasnt been built yet!!!
Glad I could clear this up for you....

does anyone know how it takes for a car to go through the assembly line start to finsih, once all parts are available?
