Nothing personal superman, and what you do is entirely up to you, but please sell your car yourself. Clean it up or pay to have it detailed, but please don't trade it to the dealer unless there's something wrong with it or you like getting screwed.

I can't believe people worry about getting a few hundreds dollars knocked off the sticker and then are willing to let the dealer steal your trade by offering thousands less than it is really worth.

You are best in trying to get the best as a tradein from where you are buying the car....
if you sell it private you are screwed with paying WHOLE tax on the challenger.........
Remember if the dealer gives yea 14,000 on your stang gt and the dodge dealer sells you
the challenger at $30,000.You will pay only $16,000 in tax Only....
If you sell your Stang on your own, maybe you will make a few dollars,,,,But
you will have to pay the full tax on teh challenger.....
Too me its not worth getting annoyed with people coming by looking at the car....
Just get the best tradein

I don't know what state you live in but that is not true in my state. Whatever you get for the car counts as a trade-in and you subtract that from the cost of the new car. Better check because that doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

I live in California. Say you buy a $30K car and trade in a $10K car. In some states you only pay sales tax on the difference ($20K), but in California, you pay sales tax on the entire $30K. Pricing on the Challengers reminds me of what happened in 04 and 05 on the GTOs. Some paid over $40K for a $32K car but those who held out a few months got cars for well under $28K. I bought a new 04 for a bit over $27K and a new 05 for a bit over $26K. With the economy on the downswing and all car manufs losing sales by up to 30%, expect heavy discounting just to get rid of inventory. I would not be surprised to see R/T's and SE's selling for more than $5K off MSRP with discounts and incentives by Jan or Feb of 09. A little more patience will save you a ton of cash.

Man, I really wish I could find some of the dealers that you are all getting. I'm kind of screwed here by the dealerships. I went to one that's close by, they say $5,000 above MSRP, while other dealers are charging $10,000, ok, whatever. Another, which is the "2007 dealer of the year", is the same way, $5,000 above MSRP and will give me $2,000 below of what I owe on my Mustang so it would obviously roll into this car. That would basically be $7,000 above MSRP, in a matter of speaking. They also told me that it would be $2,000 down to order the car. Let's just say I didn't walk out of there with an order. They kept trying to get me to take some other color then what I wanted, they had a white and black one coming in, with options that I didn't want.

I just want to find a dealer who will give me below MSRP and let me order the car for less then $2,000. Heck, I could order a Mustang for $500 for crying out loud.
