lol my fiancee drives a grand caravan and I drive a ram 1500. I agree with you, how can you sell a product you don't believe in? I will tell you we are planning a 4k addendum to our first challengers.

Thanks for coming back BHoffer, we are all very interested in the information that you have. We are all excited about this vehicle.

BHoffer can you tell us what kind of customer excitement your experiencing about the Challenger at your dealership or with DCX in general? It is understandable that dealerships would sell Challengers above MSRP if demand greatly superseeds supply. Is this what you expect?

It looks like they are going to price the Challenger between the Charger SRT8 and the 300SRT8, I can give you canadian pricing (we pay about 20% more even when you take the exchange into account, case in point -Z06 $67k in the US $94k in Canada) 300SRT8 is $53k Canadian (eh) loaded (little or no discount) and they are holding their value here (a good used 300SRT8 with under 5k, if you can find one is still getting $46k) and a charger SRT8 is $47k Canadian (I haven't seen a used one come up yet), so using that math the Challenger should be between $33k US and $38k US.
I am not sure about the US but it looks like all the Challengers selling here will be loaded up with options.
I may have Canadian pricing on the Camaro soon (I respect confidances so I will only post info and pricing when I am told it is okay to do so) as we have just been awarded a contract with GM in Oshawa.
For the 6.1L model, this appears to be true. Really, it is a fair price. The 5.7L model appears to be around $30,000. When you consider that the Shebly GT model of the Mustang is supposed to cost about $35,000 and only has 25 extra hp, the 4.7L doesn't sound like such a bad deal.

Hi everyone
I haven't posted much but been doing a lot of reading here. I also am a big MOPAR fan with prior ownership of a '69 Charger 440, and a '71 Charger Super-bee 440. I would Love to pick up a Challenger for the price that is being kicked around. But, I did look at the Mustang GT500 in my area too. Ford listed it at AROUND $40,000 and you will still see that price in various Mags when they rate that car but.....try to actually BUY one at that price!!! The dealer here tagged on an extra $20,000 to the 'Sticker' price of $40,000. So, again, what will the 'out the door' price really be? Can the average Dodge fan be able to afford one? Or will we be stuck window shopping.

First I would like to welcome you to the forum tony_c. Now I will respond. We have discussed this many times. The inital price will be inflated by the dealerships, but after the inital release give it maybe a year or so the price will not be as inflated anymore. Look at the 300C, PT Cruiser, or other initally super popular models. At first they were really expensive but after about a year the demand calmed down and so did prices.

Remember also Tony that DCX is not operating in a vaccum. The die hard Challenger nuts (like me for example) will not consider a different car but a large demographic will enjoy an opportunity to buy Mustangs, Camaros, or something else entirely. Dealers will have to balance walking the line between getting what they can for a car and pushing away a prospect.

Hi

I am curintly surving in Iraq right now and Should be done with my tour in sep 07 but I am going to try to oarder A Challenger while im heir depinding on prices and motor ops... I have an 03 1500 ram 5.7 4X4 and recently sold my 73 Charger 440 but my mom has 71 Cuda 440 police interceptor so were preaty strong on (MOPAR or No car.)
I have heard that the Charger my be gitting ready to go through a make-over and hoplfuly retro. And what makes me think that could be true is that if you go to the dodge web sit and looked at the concept avenger it has a striking resabalince to the charger so hopefully it will take the place of the Charger and a new Charger will be born. Does anyone have any outher info?
