So Which is Quicker?

So Which is Quicker?
Has anyone in an 08 SRT lined up with a 09 R/T 6spd or vice versa? The couple extra ponies in the SRT I'm sure help but my 6spd with the 3.92 gear has got to be a match. I would like to hear some response on this. Otherwise, a guy in the next neighborhood just bought a black 08 SRT auto, I may have to go inquire if he's willing to race his #48?? out of 6400!

At this point it sounds as though the SRT-8 would be faster. The 0-60 time is about 4.7 secs with the SRT, and the R/T sounds like it is something around 5.1 secs.

Paladin06, do you have any mods done to yours? I'm in no way trying to insult the SRT or anyone who owns one but I do want to do some mods to get mine closer to that 425hp. The numbers I ve seen put the R/T just a hair under the SRT and I m thinking a few mods might make them pretty equal across the board.

Stock for stock, I'd have to give the SRT the edge. Even with the auto and a tad extra weight, they still have 50 more horses than our R/Ts.
A few mods on the R/T could easily help even up the odds, though

Paladin06, thats an awesome homepage, man! Nice job! The last car I had at a show was my 73 which was by no means the best of show but it was fun. I hope to take my R/T to a few this year. I would like to get the Mopar cold air intake, it just looks so clean as opposed to the others and I have always been a Direct Connection/Mopar Performance guy when I worked on my other Challengers.

the srt is faster by a few tenths...that is about it....btw a manny srt8 has 392 gears as well so put 2 and 2 together and ligically the srt 8 is faster....you should race a stock srt8 vs your RT with just a exaust by mrbp and it should be a good race....also remeber paladins car is a auto which equals consistent times....manual cars srt8 or not, it is up to a driver.
I could race a stick civic and beat a manual challenger if the driver spins too much and cant shift..
