This post just gets funnier as people try to continue to argue, BUT in a nice way.

Remember when it was all about getting a great muscle car, and not about exact displacement? Just getting one made you part of the elite, and was enough.

Yo SRT8 Guys (and gals). Lets end the banter and just admit we paid way to much, and only got the fastest of production choices. Forget about the attention the first model year gets, and the grin you wear when your driving. As much as we would all like... we dont have the R/T.

Now lets get into the SE, and where mods will take you.
For less then the R/T I will have an 11.4 second car. 2900 pounds, and 625 pound feet of torque. Cost... about 30,000. Hours spent doing it.... MANY.

I will leave the SRT8 in the garage, and take all challenges by March, or April in a SE

What is 55 HP worth.... NOTHING, Nada, zip, zilch.... That much power is lost between Morning and afternoon for the change in D/A.

My SE will stomp the ummmm..... Heck out of my SRT8... Guess what? I still love my silver bullet more.

SE, R/T, or my fav the SRT8. All challengers, and all beautiful cars.

If you mean me, and I assume by using my text as a quote you do....
You miss my point completely. I dont care... not one lil' tiny bit.

I admit the R/T is the better choice, and only saps, and fools bought the first year SRT8.

I hope this post is harder to agrue Kevin, because you are right, and I am wrong.... I'm sorry.

Any chance we can close this out right here?

HEY ALL THREE CHALLENGER MODELS ARE INFERIOR TO THE NEW BMW M3!!!

Okay I had to get everyone to refocus and appreciate the fact that we all have choices to make and no choice is wrong. You are all right and all wrong at the same time and great to see so many fans (fanatics) who appreciate the challenger. Okay my turn for an opinion:

I really could care less that one model does this and the other does not and yada yada yada yada, buy what you want, shut up and have fun driving.

There was never any real fight.
We were just saying how the RT is a bargain. No one said that the 08 buyers were saps. Don't make things up. If you got an 08 your lucky because you are first on the block and as mopar2ya says you got that first grin. No hard feelings. I just don't know why all the srt8 guys get so pissed about discussing the RT vs the srt8 in terms of bargain or what not.

But andre lets squash the beef that never really existed.

question,

what crate motor are you sticking in the SE?

I understand Andres SE will be camo... that will make it so the color will have absolutely no bearing on the speed of the car. Pure HP Baby!! [sm=icon_rock.gif]

It's not 55 h.p.

It's status...it's the grin...it's first on the block...it's people knowing what you've got...it's the attention.

It's a true MOPAR way, to enjoy the style in the base model...remember 1970 Challeneger offered 6 engines includiing inline 6

It's a true MOPAR way to modify performance...lots of cast iron intakes and exhaust manifolds were used as boat anchors after they were replaced with alumnum componnets out of cartologs and carbs were swapped out. It's hard even here in Detroit to get Mopar guys together...they're like lone wolves, working in secret independence to find more power, less weight, more speed and more sound.

It's about the forum here, where we embrace these differences with encouragment and congratulations, regardless of model or year.

Kevin,
No crate motor. I was building the 7.0 for the srt8 and decided I would just leave it alone engine wise for now. All I need is the heads still, and am waiting for Denny at Sharadon to slow down enough to do them.
