The first car I ordered is now in inspection... however I will not be buying this one... at $20k over MSRP. They are going to call me when it gets there so I can exercise my first right of refusal. I will go with the intent of seeing one in the flesh, and taking plenty of pics and maybe some video. I will not pay MSRP +$20k though. [:'(]

The dealer says it is supposed to ship 5/20... we shall see...

The one I will be buying is in status D... at least last time I spoke with that dealer... who knows, could be back to C again by now...

The New Yorker, LHS, and later the 300M were Introduced. The Brampton Plant went to 3 shifts under the AWS system. Chrysler became DaimlerChrysler in the fall of 1998.

In 2001, the 3rd shift was eliminated as a part of DaimlerChryslers financial "Turnaround Plan".
In 2004, the Brampton Assembly Plant started production of the 300C and Magnum.
In 2005, the third shift was restored and an additional vehicle, "The Charger", was introduced.
Chrysler was sold to Cerberus in 2007.
In 2008 the 3rd shift was eliminated. Later in the year the Magnum was dropped from the product lineup. The Challenger was introduced.

Workers at this plant are responsible for assembling the 300C, Charger, and Challenger on a 2 shift operation. The Chrysler Brampton Assembly Plant is the sole North American producer of these popular, best value on the planet, award winning vehicles. The Brampton Assembly Plant is the single largest employer in Canada's 11th largest city.

about 968 units a day/2 shifts

Budman,
How many shifts is Brampton running? I looked up the manufacturing facility and it stated about 968 units a day/2 shifts. One would think they are only running 1 shift.

Thanks for the insight, Budman. And it's reassuring the pride one takes in the product he produces.

HELLO I AM NEW ON THE FORUM AFTER READ DAY BY DAY THE OPINIONS ABOUT THE 2008 CHALLENGER SRT8 PRODUCTION, DELIVERY, THE EXPERIENCE WITH MY DEALER WAS REALLY CLEAR FROM THE BEGINING THE SALES MANAGER TOLD ME IN JANUARY WHEN I MAKE A DEPOSIT FOR RESERVE ONE OF THE ALLOCATION CAR OF THE DEALER I PAID OVER MSRP THE CARS WIL BE DELIVERY BY END OF MAY OR MID JUNE, HE EXPLAIN ME THE PRODUCTION OF THIS CAR WAS MADE IN THE SAME ASSEMBLY LINE OF CHRYSLER 300 AND CHARGERS WITHOUT INTERRUMPING ITS ACTUAL PRODUCTION, MY CONCLUTION ITS CHRYSLER START TO PRODUCE PILOTS CAR FEW MONTHS AGO AND FOUND PROBLEMS THAT NEED TO BE RESOLVE WITH NO INTERRUPTION OF HIS ACTUAL PRODUCTION AND HOLD THE 2008 PRODUCTION UNTIL BE NEAR THE 2009 MODELS BECAUSE AS SOON HE FINISH THE LAST 2008 RIGH AWAY START 2009 CARS, 15 DAYS MORE OR LESS AT THIS POINT ITS NO REASON TO BLAME CHRYSLER THIS COMPANY TRY TO LOW COST ON THE PRODUCTION OR SOON WILL BE DIE OR JEOPARDIZE HIS POSITION ON THE MARKET LIKE THE OTHER TWO BIG PRODUCERS LIKE GM AND FORD, REMEMBER ALL THE ACTUAL TECHNOLOGY OF CHRYSLER ITS HERITAGE FROM DAIMLER BENZ AND ITS REALLY GOOD CARS AND THE CHALLENGER WILL BE THE BEST FOR DODGE IMAGE, NOW THE NEXT REAL PROBLEM IS WHEN THE CAR HITS THE DEALER AND THE BUYERS FEEL THE CAR MY OPINION ITS THE PRICE GOING UP FASTER AND PROBABLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE SERIOUS AGREEMENT WITH YOU DEALER YOU NEVER RECEIVE THE CAR AT MSRP ONLY AT MARKET PRICE, MY RECOMENDATION ITS GO TODAY AND PAID THE CAR IN FULL, IF YOU FINANCE LATER THE DEALER CAN RETURN THE BALANCE MONEY, IF THE DEALER REFUSE TO TAKE THE FULL PAYMENT YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON, WELL GOOD LUCK FOR EVERYBODY AND ENJOY THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shutdown is mid-July, 2 months from now, for a vacation.
I heard working in an auto factory is brutally hard work.

My estimated ship date yesterday was 5/31 and today it is 5/30 !!!

Of course we know this may be BS but any change or movement is good I guess.
