Tupperware,
guess what? I knew it was to good to be true, back in D land. D1 was short lived. Somebody must have complained again, so I guess I'll keep getting pushed back further and further. If its to be delivered in July, I'll take an 09 the color I want, or they can paint my late 08 the color I want.

I have to respectfully disagree....I have drag raced, road raced and oval track raced. Fast starts and top speed require the most skill of all.
I do agree that a nice burnout is cool to watch, but with the proper rear end and some HP, it takes as much skill as pushing on the gas pedal hard and fast.
Hope you guys get what you want....a 1971 Challenger....I for one appreciate the engineering advances of the last 37 years and I am looking forward to my 2008 Challenger.
Dave
BTW....1st car 1968 Super Bee, 2nd car 1972 Sebring, 3rd car 1971 Challenger. . . . . . . . need I go on?

DiamDave,
I too am a long time racer, oval and road courses. I guess what really bothers me is that you cannot turn that stuff off. Driving a road racing car with ESP or a drag racer with traction control reduces the need for a quality driver. And I must say, even at 48 years old, I am really turned on by drifting and if I can figure out how to disable this stuff, I'll upload some unforgetable video.

Has any regular Joe picked theirs up yet?
8H299929...D status purgatory with no idea of when I’ll move to D1 or better. Wow, for the money I paid I wish I could get better info! Maybe I just need to buy a new bike!

Has anyone had problems trying to call the 800 number to check their status? I have called 4 times and every time i go through the menu and then it tries to connect me to someone and then says the call can not be completed.

Budman,
How many are they building a day now? Are they out of storage space until the 300 is moved to Windsor? How many have they built to date? Are they building US first or mixture of Canadian, US & Mexico?

Hi GPMAN,
I am no expert on the systems on the newer Chrysler products, but see mopar2ya's post on page 135 of this thread. He shows an excerpt from the owners manual saying that you can turn it all off.
Called the 800 number....mine still in D limbo!!! Please everyone keep us posted on progress and especially lots of pictures of actually delivered Challengers....
Good luck to all,
Dave
