An interesting angle on the status thing. Anyone have access to someone in the know that might be able to shed some light on this idea?

Let us know when your status changes from D1. Also confirm the real ship date and then days to receive it. Thanks just curious about the whole process.

 

I just found out as of 3/27/08 I went to D status with vin 289282

I updated the member vin list of D status or higher.

I placed my order on Dec 3rd around 1430 hrs....applied $1000.00 towards purchase at MSRP. My order is holding in a "C" status at this time. My dealer has a five star rating and has been allocated two challengers or the standard issue for a dealership of his size. They don't even have vin numbers for what they are scheduled to get yet, and not just my order. Stands to reason that all primary allocations to dealers would be the primary focus at first production....then individual orders would follow suite. My question is......how are all you people getting vin numbers and even delivery dates on all these challengers and dealers don't even have numbers for solid deliveries yet? Are you giving vin numbers for what the dealer was allocated? Also whats the latest on production if at all? I thought there would be some kind of fanfare when the first production model rolled off the production line....this acording to some of you experts on here.

When you move from C status to D status you will get a VIN number and it means your challenger will start being built within the next 2-3 weeks. When you move from D to D1 i believe it means the cars is on the assembly line. From what i heard they started production yesterday but other people have said the official start of production is next Monday. I don't know if it matter but my order was entered and accepted on 12/3/07 at 9:27 am and I have the second lowest VIN. Just wait and you will be moving into D status and getting a VIN pretty soon.

WELL I LOOKED AT MY VON SHEET AND MY CAR WAS ORDERED ON 12/3 @ 9:46AM, VIN289405, HEMI ORANGE ALSO, NO OPTIONS, RETRO AS RETRO CAN BE. SAME STATUS, SINCE 3/27 ALSO. HOPE TO BE D1 SOON

WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT THEY HAVE STARTED PRODUCTION? THERE WERE POSTS EARLIER THAT INDICATED A DELAY, I BELIEVE JOANI DATE SLIPPED AND SHE HAS LOWEST VIN# ON HERE. JUST MY OPINION BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BE WRONG.

 

I called my dealer today and some how I'm not the first one to order a challenger at the dealership anymore????? It turns out the owner of the dealership is now first in line and I'm second. When I ordered the car I was told I was first. I reconfirmed my order around Feb. and I was still first. But now some how I'm second. I'm trying really hard to hold back because this is a family place and all.

I don't understand. I called Dodge customer service in Feb. w/o an order number, just my name. And they told me I was at status C. Now I call the dealer and they tell me I'm at BX or B something. The lady I spoke with at the dealership said they had ordered five. Yea, she really thinks their getting 5 08's. How crazy is this?

I know it was too good to be true.

 

i checked mine again this afternoon it is still d 1 status and going to be shipped this coming tuesday 4-22 i will let you know when it changes --i check it 3 to 4 times a day.......all 7 others that my dealer ordered on 12-03-07 are still on c status.....good luck to all Joani
