WHO HAS A 2009 CHALLENGER ANY MODEL ON ORDER??
Mine is auto. When I ordered I ordered in early July, my dealer (who claims to be the biggest Dodge dealer on the East Coast, but I'm sure a # of them say that) told me that I'd have it in 8-12 weeks and I thought to myself "No way" and I chilled out & expected it to be MONTHS. I was shocked when the dealer called me back this past Monday and gave me a VIN & said he'd have it THIS Friday (but watching the VIN tracker I see it's been pushed back to Sept. 1). I'll still believe it when I see it, but yeah, I'm surprised too.
[:@]I swear what I posted earlier and what I've been thinking about Dodge's Build and delivery policies is true. That they are filling up the stock orders for their dealers first and then they will worry about us loyal customers who have pre -ordered since they already have our deposits and are sure we will wait any extra time for our deliveries. If this is the case as I believe it REALLY STINKS !! . I'll wait and see, but I'll just bet you, you will see all kinds of SE's and R/T's show up at dealers for sale all thru the month of Sept with just a few pre-ordered cars being delivered to customers and the rest of us will get ours thru Oct, Nov, annd Dec. Lots of work for SANTA!!! More Glue PLEASE!!! Fat Cat[sm=gears.gif]
Hang in there Fatcat. Something fishy is going on. But I don't think they putting those of us who ordered at the back for dealer inventory first. There is some screwed up system that prioritizes cars over at Chrysler. I've had some of my friends there try to figure out what’s going on and no one seems to be able to figure out who plans thins. From what I've figured out threw my contacts the plant doesn't schedule everything. If what I've heard is correct the plant doesn't have any control over scheduling until the car reaches D. anything before that and it's apparently dealt with somewhere else. But this is what I've gathered after talking to a lot of people over at dodge. This could also be 100% wrong since no one seems to know anything.
For the 6-speed guys in D1, what are the projected build dates of your cars right now? Just wondering if they are all in early September or not.

RUBBERBNDMAN is right. While allocations can sometimes be really specific like "1 allocation for a '09 SRT8 Automatic", ultimately the dealers themselves decide who gets those slots. So for example if you have an R/T Auto on order with a dealer, and they have other R/T Autos being built before yours that are not Sold cars, your dealer is taking you for a ride and trying to maximize their off-the-lot sales since they know you're already committed.

Hey guys...an FYI on the R/T's....Ganley Dodge in Bedford Ohio got 2 in this week...automatics....one white, the other blue. I had originally ordered the '09 R/T with the 6speed...white...hood to fender R/T stripes...and every possible option...Trak Pak...you name it, but fell into a deal on my 08 SRT. The 09 I ordered is currently in transit for delivery this next week...so you may want to start watching the larger dealerships.
