I can only tell you what we went through waiting on the 2008's.

Just read a few hundred of the comments in the "who has a 2008 on order". Over 6,000 posts long and MUCH agony. It was well worth the wait, and you will make some great friends.

I know that dont help alot now, but when you look back you will see that ALL who waited were glad they did.

It may sound like odd advice, but look at the Challenger, and only the car. Many of us were ready to storm the plant. Calling Dodge, and even pakastan knew we were Pi**ed!

2500+ miles later, its still a great car, still turning heads. I wont attest to Chrysler Management skills, but I would do it all over again for the car.

Hey Fitz,

I just got my 2009 R/T (auto) this past Tuesday after ordering in July, having the 1st one arrive on Labor Day weekend with the trunk & spoiler SMASHED, ordered a replacement and it came this week.

After months of waiting, the car is finally here and I can't stop driving it & thinking about it (in only 145 miles, I've had a blast and it is unbelievable how many other people have been excited by seeing the car - a cop came over to me after my 2nd mile of driving it so that he could see it, a load of coeds driving a compact Chevy pulled up alongside it last night so that they could all look at it, a guy in a Grand Am chased me last night so he could drive alongside me with a thumbs out, a deer poked its head out of a bush last night as I drove past so it could get a look).

The Dodge engineers have done an incredible job with this car and if you're into Challengers, you HAVE to wait it out & get one. If you don't, you just know you're gonna look back & say "what if" someday.

 

Oh, you poor guy. We all feel sorry for you.

 

I have had my R/T for a week and a half and keep coming up with reasons to go some where. Was at the Volo auto museum today outside of Chicago and had numerous people standing around my car in the parking lot checking it out. When we went to leave there was a couple from Germany taking pictures and said they would love to have one, but could not afford to pay for the fuel

Everywhere you go there are people checking your car out. Makes you feel like a rock star It is worth the wait.

 

flyingfitz, my story? A lot of folks here know it. I ordered my 09 SRT 6 speed, Hemi Orange beauty on May13th. It was finallty delivered on Oct 7th. Great news right? WRONG!!! The car that came in was an auto! Not the 6 speed I ordered. Everything says it was supposed to be a 6 speed but sitting in it and wishing, no matter how hard, made it anything but the auto it was. I reordered a new SRT 6 speed on Sept 30th (when I found out my first SRT was coming with an auto) and started this whole insane crazy wait all over again. I have survived with the help of the great folks here and you will as well my friend. Be patient, enjoy the forum and join our circle of friends.

 

The issue is with me wanting to put the exhaust where the orignal T/A exhaust was placed, Ive seen many issues with that type of placement on the 09s, due to the height, and fuel tank being located where its at
