What is THIS? [sm=insomnia.gif]

The 2009 Challenger, to be built starting in July 2008, will include a 3.5 liter SXT with the 3.5 liter engine and four-speed automatic, R/T with the second-generation 5.7 Hemi, and the SRT-8. The 2010, to start production in July 2009 - with convertibles starting in early 2009 - will be similar but with SXT and R/T convertibles, and possibly a new 6.4 liter High Output SRT8 option.

But... I thought that Dodge had emphatically denied ANY possibility of a ragtop Challenger - absolutely NOT, hell no, no way, no how, not on your mother's life - NO chance - zip, zero, nada, zilch, don't even think about it...[sm=forgetit.gif]

I dunno if it's really true or not (if it isn't, where is the editor getting his info?), but here's the rest of the article...

Allpar isn't the best source out there. I think there's a chance for one, to hearken back to the classics, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. I'd wait for official word from Dodge itself.

I guess it all depends how well the Challenger sells. Also, how well the Camaro convertible sells. If Dodge sees a way to make more money, it will become a reality.

See my post under "Off-Topics" for a video of the Camaro convertible concept car.

My thoughts exactly.

Best words of wisdom I have heard all day.

Say what? Of course "official" word is always the most accurate, but outside of that, Allpar is one of the BEST sources out there and has been for years. Model after model they have come up with some amazingly accurate details far in advance. I'd match up their Challenger info against any other enthusiast site. While the convertible may or may not come to pass, I know for a fact that MOST of the other info they posted is going to turn out to be dead on, just like it has in the past for more models than I can think of. Not to mention a "future vehicles launch list" that has proven to be incredibly accurate in "predicting" release date for many a model years in advance. Their "future engines" list has also turned out to be right on and they were the very first to mention and to give details on the Viper 8.4L engine, nearly two years ago. If you want to compare track records and accuracy to other Chrysler enthusiast sites, very few others would even come close.

Glad to hear about your enthusiasm. So what are you doing hanging out here since we obviously don't meet your expectations?

Who said anything about this site not "meeting my expectations"? I was simply replying to your inaccurate comment about Allpar's track record.

All I did was agree with someone else. I never talked about their track record, I just know they have been inaccurate before in the past.
I do not go around and measure their past performance. If you do, then knock yourself out.

If a squirrel runs around long enough he will find a few good nuts just like soothsayer will always make a few good guesses.

You need more than one data point to get an accurate picture of what is going on. To only depend on only one source is being niave.

So for somebody to get excited about some information they found from 1 source is a waste of time.

C'mon guys, no need to get grumpy! Point is, there are those of us who will hold to hope of a convertible until the new Challenger goes out of production...
