RE: Will You be Satisfied with a 6.1?
I found this update about the 6.4 on allpar:
"A 6.4 liter Hemi is expected to get nearly 500 hp (we have heard a range from 450-480 with the most recent estimate at 475, and better mileage). He also said that the 6.1 Hemi (SRT version) might get MDS in 2009 or 2010."

Since it appears that Dodge will be retaining the 6.1 through 2010, the 6.4 might be part of a limited edition Challenger (or 'Cuda???). If this happens, it will be an awesome car but will also command big $$$

If SRT could tweak the 6.1 with MDS and have it run on regular 87 fuel instead of 91 without losing any HP and gaining an MPG or 2... THAT would be an accomplishment. If they could apply the same technology to the 6.4 it'd be even better.

I will believe it when I read it officially about the 6.1L getting MDS, on top of this, I would tend to believe that if that was done to the 6.1L, it would only be available for automatic models since the MDS isn't being offered with the manuals. I believe that we are going to see some improvement somewhere whether it is a larger engine or an update or upgrade before long for the 6.1L since last year the 4.7L got an update, this year the 5.7L got an update. It is only logical that the top engine will either be improved or replaced with something better.
The gearing of the manual transmission is enough to pretty much match what effect the MDS has on the 5.7L with the automatic; therefore, it would seem that the manual will help the SRT significantly either way.

To get you into their products, some car makers invite you to strap on a helmet and go for the gold.
