A furture Challenger Owner
Hey everyone,
I just joined today and am amazed at the number of people flocking around the new Challenger. I happen to be one of them. In fact, I am one of the lucky ones as I ordered mine last week from a local Denver dealer. I paid dearly for it, but at my age (50's), I can now afford one when I couldn't back in the 70's. I currently drive an '06 SRT8 Charger, which is a great car but I really wanted the Challenger at the same time the Charger was released. The dealer said only about 1500 Challengers would be produced but I'm not sure I believe that. We'll see next spring when they show up.

Welcome aboard SRTEight,
love to hear more 50+ members are flocking to the new Challenger.
DCX has already stated that first year production will be from 30,000 to 50,000 depending on customer demand. Personally, I believe 50,000 will sell out the first year.

Welcome to the site. You are so lucky. You drive an SRT-8 Charger, that is a prelude to what the Challenger will be. The 2008 Challenger is everything that the 1975 Challenger should of been. Had they made it! But with all the technology of the 21st century. It has the same looks, more power, better brakes and better handling. This is what we all dreamed about in the 80s and 90s. Just thought it would never happen, imagine that..... a car company that listens to its customers. Again welcome and look forward to your posts.

As for the deal on the Challenger, when I went to my local Denver dealer, he told me that the owner of the dealership had already secured the 1st Challenger. I asked about a 2nd Challenger and after he made a couple of calls, the sales manager said that I could have the second one. So, after putting 5k down, they wrote up a buyers order. The owner of the dealership required that I agree to paying 10k over the retail sticker (ugh!) but what are you going to do if you want one of the first ones? As it gets closer to the end of the year, I will be able to specify what options I want on the Challenger. I love my Charger but will be selling it soon and plunking that money in a CD until the Challenger comes in. I'm going to need it...lol.

Man I guess I am lucky to live in cold Canada. I am the first in line for a Challenger Convertible at MSRP. I have heard rumblings that the Government here does not allow mark-ups however, saw it happen with the GT500 so not sure what the deal is. Anyaway, have to wait until they actually announce the making of one now.
