Nope, like I said the number one reason I got rid of it was because of finances so I traded in before I got it fixed. What would happen is when I drive slow it would shift from 1st to 3rd(actually it would go into 2nd but go to 3rd real quick). But if I were to take off, like on the freeway, it would kick down, the passing gear, then when it reached the rpm limiter it would just sit there. It wouldn't shift back up.

Ouch! I remember those days when I drove an Olds Ciera that had a bad transmission. Boy did that car jerk a lot. So the transmission would skip a gear. When it would just sit there what did you do to get it to move again?

Let up on the gas. Then keep it steady. Not good when you are trying to get to speed on an onramp to the freeway

No offense taken from those who do not favor GM. I've gone through about 3 trannies now in this car but it's really my fault for a couple of reasons. First, the way I drive. I'm on it all the time and love burnin' rubber on the streets. The second reason is because of the buildup of the trans, in particular, the Stage 3+ shift kit. The builder knew I wanted slam bang shifts and instead of adding the 3 washers in the shift kit to achieve this, he instead knew of a TF727 spring that would do the trick even harder. So, as a result my bangin' shifts, though tons of fun, just pounded the trans. One time I grenaded the sun shell so I upgraded that to a reinforced one. The trans is also the reason I've gone through 4 rears too, LOL. The stock rear (7.625") was made for the 265 V8 that came with the car, not the 350 that came in the Impala SS and 350-equipped Caprices (8.5"). Now that I have a stud girdle, it holds up.

The 4L60E is a weak point with any LT1/LS1/LS2 equipped vehicle, as it cannot hold up to the massive torque. Any GM guy worth his salt will tell you that. Some just put in a TH400 and are done with it for good, those take a pounding.

Here's an example of the good 1-2 shift in the Caprice:

1-2 shift

And a standing still burnout in front of the Ford dealership:

1-2-3 shifts, listen

I did like my truck. 01 Silverado's had a good look, but they went and f'd up that IMO. But one of those things that something happens that is a major fix and hear a few others with the similar poblem, then you tend to shy away from them. And byting my tongue if I had any major problems with the 2 dodges I had, then I would go elsewhere as well.

if i may make a quick side note...what did you mean about the V8 1500s, RLSH700? The 2nd gen 360 Rams came with a 5 speed, as do the 3rd gen 4.7L 1500s...

well, im not positive about the 3rd gens with the 4.7, but i thought that a few guys at DF have mtx 3rd gens, and i know they dont have V6s...and ive driven a 2nd gen mtx 360....
