The guy got it from working on Fork lifts which operate on compressed air, if I recall the program right (no emissions lasted longer than electric motors?
I am only aware of electric, propane, and gasoline but not compressed air fork lifts in the this country. I guess they must used compressed in Germany for some reason.......pollution maybe?
That or cost. It sounds like a very cheap way to power something and extremely renewable. The questions are: How much does something like this cost? How long will something like this last in comparison to other current in production systems? How much does it cost to maintain? What safety hazards could there be with something like this?

The one thing that concerns me about the safety is if it is like a scuba diving air tank. Those things can be unstable. You have to handle those things with care because of the pressure. Although what happened in Jaws is completely inaccurate, it could hurt someone pretty bad if it got damaged in the wrong way (though the same is true in the case of gasoline like we saw with the Pinto).

I guess....when I heard the guy being interviewed, I thought the same thing....maybe they'd go through so much LithiumION or NiMH they figured there'd be too much in getting it recycled.

Dargh! I got confused. They are ALSO making air powered engines for fork lifts, they didn't get the idea from it. Sorry, saw it was a while ago. Here's the clip.

Here's the problem guys.
You need electricity to run an air compressor.
so now you need to solve that problem.
unless it runs on a 9 Volt battery.

As a side benefit, the heat of the air compression process can be used to heat a home’s water.
Why not put a grill in the trunk. Perfect for tailgating and beach parties!

I think that is already included in the $2 price to fill it up. There are many ways to get electricity. There's coal, nuclear, wind, solar, and many other ways of getting it. It's the other things I would like to have explained.

Yeah, I think they're focusing more on convert electrical to potential mechanical energy (airtank as opposed to battery).

Of course they hooked up electrical generators to see-saw platforms cars rolled over to produce electrical energy for toll booths, you think they could take busy streets and either have these work compressors for airtanks or electrical generators for recharging stations. Lost energy every where, you just have to think out of the box, man. Now I'm going to go back to listening to my Jefferson Airplane, cool cats.
