Actually that was for a deal to make the new Chery Hornet (excuse me Dodge Hornet). It isn't a buy out or merger.

This comment about the Hornet got me looking for pics out there, and I came across this page:
http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Am...nMotors-b.html
I saw several cars there that my family had when I was growing up. My dad worked for an AMC dealership when I was little, and I know we had that 1973 AMC Matador Station Wagon. I remember that white car, with the side wood-looking section looking exactly like that. We were rear-ended in that car, with me standing behind the front seat, leaning in the middle. I remember watching the cookies fly out of the container I was holding in my hands, right into the passenger floor at my brother's feet. What a strange thing to remember.
My father had an AMC AMX, which I have a pic of that I have to scan and upload to find out which one it was. It may have been the 1969 AMC AMX 390 on that page, because the pic I have looks a lot like that one (dark orange with stripes).
Mom had to drive a PoS Hornet for a while, and I know we had at least one Gremlin. Ah, those were the days...
I didn't think Chrysler bought AMC until late 70s? Am I mis-remembering?
