Greg is the name. I live in Queen Creek AZ. I presently have, not a daily driver, very highly modified Solara.

Now the age one is tough but here goes, 50. No laughing, I feel 30.

Not that fast. Have a look.

http://www.sounddomain.com/id/paladin06

It's in pieces all over the country right now. The Block is in Texas, the heads are in Maryland, the Supercharger is in California and the car is in a shop in Arizona. When I get all the pieces back together it will be 300 (+) HP to wheels 12 second 1/4 mile V6 import. It was 13's before I broke it. Damn short cuts will get you every time.

RE: Come on in!!

Wow..that car is very nicely done. i was surprised to see an automatic...i saw the LSD, but do you have anything like a stall convertor?

Paladin06 01-18-2006 05:41 PM

RE: Come on in!!

Yes, I do have a B&M high stall torque converter. The tranny has been completely redone.

1 Bad Mirada 01-18-2006 06:40 PM

RE: Come on in!!

thats pretty cool...how did you get into doing that? i mean, if you dont mind my saying, the "import performance" crowd is typically a high school age group, and you are older than that...

I'm not really sure. I know I get bored easy since retiring from the military and I wanted something different to do. Here I am..

RE: Come on in!!

Hola!

Eron here. (It's pronouced "Aaron". Yes, odd spelling, but I'm an odd guy.) I'm 36, married, and I live smack between San Francisco and San Jose in the foggy state of California.

My lovely wife drives the good car (Land Rover Discovery Series II) while I drive a 2005 PT Cruiser, Touring Edition. I sold my '65 Dodge Dart not too long ago and have had to resort to tinkering on a '66 VW Bug.

I've always been a Mopar fan. Always always. My Dad started my Mopar fixation with his 1966 Dodge Dart GT, black with red interior. Gads but that car ruled. I was in it when he beat some punk kid in a 1969 Mustang fastback. I think I was 7 at the time... car was older than I was. The guy across the street from us (for most of my childhood) had a 1968 Charger R/T, 426 Hemi, 4 on the floor. That thing rattled windows.

My first Mopar was a 1972 Plymouth Duster (Gold Duster). 318 engine, auto transmission.... I beefed up the timing chain, put on headers and dual exhaust, moderate cam, Offenhauser intake, Carter Quadrajet, Hush Thrush mufflers, and I tightened up the front suspension. A buddy foolishly asked, "How fast do you think it'll go?" I pinned the speedometer in that car.

Man, I miss it. :(

Caprice SS 01-20-2006 08:16 AM

RE: Come on in!!

I'm Eric from Richmond, VA.

My car is a '94 Caprice Classic that's been turned into my version of the Caprice SS. Not many people know that a Caprice SS was actually produced by GM. It was an export-only vehicle to parts of the Middle East. Over there, an Impala is nothing but an animal but the Caprice name is revered for it's excellent cooling system and comfort, so they got the Caprice SS. It's really an Impala SS with the impala logos stripped off, along with both catalytic converters. Anyway, I happened to know the part numbers for the Caprice SS side scripts so I ordered them and put them on the car. It's worthy of SS status since I can pound an Impala SS pretty handily now. My car's site is listed in my profile.

My girlfriend has an '96 Impala SS with similar mods. She enjoys working on her car. In fact, she put the rear-end gears in her car, along with the headers. Quite a woman, and beautiful too!

At the moment the clutch packs are gone in the trans so a buddy of mine gave me 92 Ford Probe that was sitting in the field at his farm. I had it roadworthy for just a couple of hundred bucks and it's my daily driver until I can get the Caprice back on the road. It's difficult to save up though because my money is going towards a cruise to the Carribbean, ex-wife, etc.

Tom here- live in a small town on the Mass/NH border (on the GOOD side). Have been a Mopar man all my life; come by it genetically, as my Dad worked as a service and parts manager for Dodge dealer for most of my life. Current rides are an '03 Hemi Ram 2500 QC 4x4; '98 Intrepid ES; '99 Durango; '00 Neon; and my two 'babies', a '66 Hemi Charger and a '67 Coronet R/T ragtop. I'm old enough to know better (supposedly) but young enough to still have some pi$$ and vinegar and a need for power and speed left.....;). And from what I see from prior replies, I'm NOT the oldest one here! [sm=bounceybounce.gif]

well, so far, it seems to me that the "new challenger" enthusiasts are people who want a "muscle car", without buying a mustang or GTO...i am not older, but i was raised right...:)

Lets see here, my name is Mike and I live in Roanoke, TX. Just a couple minutes north of Fort Worth. I'm 26 years old and currently drive a 2001 Ram 1500 and my wife has a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport. So we are some pretty good DCX fans. I work at FedEx and am in the Navy Reserves; I am also going to college and working on my BS in Architecture...hope to have the word Architect in front of my name one day. I joined the Navy after high school and went straight to active duty so I have a lot of catching up to do in the "formal eduction" area.

But I'm really excited to be part of this new forum with people of similar interests in that almighty horsepower Challenger.

What's up?

I'm Chase from Tallahassee, Florida. Currently here because of college and family. I will eventually move back to my real home in Fort Myers...

I'm 20 years old and I have been into Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep since I was in 6th grade, with i noticed the Intrepid and later the Durango. I love the Viper and am really happy that DCX is bringing back some performance cars and coupes.

I drive a 2004 Dodge Neon SE. Not modified at all really. Just a sound system, spoiler, rims, tires etc... I previously owned a 2000 Intrepid SE, but I lost her in a wreck. My first car was a 1985 Mercedes 190D... Man that was a slow beast, lol.

My family has owned many Dodges, including a 1984 Dodge Ram Van with 480,000 miles on it...

I work as night security and sales at my uncle place, called Mike's Beer Barn and I am a student a Tallahassee Community College....

I can't wait to get my hands on a Challenger... but that will be some time from now....

Name - Brian. Live in Burbank. Age - 33(34 in may). Currently drive 90 ford ranger and 04 triumph Daytona 955i. I had a 04 Dodge Neon, but if you ever saw over on DF, it was totalled. I was lucky to get the Ranger from a Family member for free. I have had another dodge. it was a 96 Ram 4x4(it was a lease so got rid of it in late 99).

I know I am going to get flamed but because I don't have the patience to wait for the challenger to come out and want a muscle car and do not have the cash for a Charger, I am getting an 06 Mustang GT in the next couple months. By the time the Challenger comes out, I should owe less than what the trade in value is and I can trade in the Stang. Only if the price is right as well. Through my company I get a Ford discount. From what I see I will get it OTD around 23,000.

My name is Dave. Live in Pasadena Maryland and I am 42. Currently I own 3 1971 Challengers. One is just a parts car now, so really only 2 of them. I fix and maintain computers and computer network systems for the local county. My daily driver is a 98 Nissan pickup truck. My wife and I inherited a 04 Chevy Impala last year, so we gave my wife’s 98 Neon to our 19-year-old girl. We also have 2 sons 6 and 14. The 14 year old will need a vehicle soon, and the truck would be perfect for him. That is what makes the new Challenger so appealing to me. I can buy the Challenger for me and give my oldest son the truck.

RE: Come on in!!

Jeff here in Cleveland Ohio. 29, married and 2 kids ( boy & girl ).
Currently the "toys" are 73 Challenger and 50 Chevy. I'm dying to get a Cuda, but with the new Challenger sure to be on it's way now it's decision time.
Daily driver is an 06 Jeep Wrangler, and the wife has a 2000 Cherokee.

I've had a number of Chryslers, boats to small block Aspens, so it's been a good combo. The car I regreted the most was selling my 69 Super Bee clone. So after much begging from the wife, I went out and picked up my Challenger. I've had it for about 5 years now and it has always been a blast.
Being some what young, my uncles were of the right age to have driven muscle cars when they were out, and to this day still have there toys, all of which were or are Chevys. I had to be different, wanted to stand out and that's when Chysler popped into my head.
I consider myself a car nut, and have worked on all of the big 3.

By the way - it's nice to have found this forum, this should be fun!

I'm Colin currently in Maryville, MO originally from Sparta, IL (a town you will see me bash on a regular basis). I'm a sober 21 year old male who doesn't like universities or the atmosphere of the universities for that matter. Majoring in Marketing and Management. As you will see on my signature line, I have a '97 Intrepid with a 3.5l engine, (hence my DF title name). My family has had 8 Dodges total but no real muscle cars unfortuneatly (my parents have very conservative taste). We have had two Dodge Coronets with 318s (can't remember the years), a '78 Aspen with a slant 6, two '91 Dodge Dynasty's with the 3.0L Mitsubishi, '91 Dodge Caravan (2.5L I4 NA unfortuneatly), my '97 Intrepid, and a '02 Dodge Caravan (3.3L V6 equipped this time). The Challenger is my current dream car and I hope to own one.

Welcome again SSG_Edwards to the site! God bless you for your service. Which branch of the military are you in?

So you want to work at the factory in St. Louis? What made you want to work there out of coursity? I'm originally from around that area.

RLSH700 10-26-2006 11:07 PM

RE: Come on in!!

Welcome Eric! Depends on whether your on break or not? I guess that means that you are also a college student also.

The biggest gasoline powered 6 I have ever heard of was the Ford 300 (4.9L) I6, but of course that is an I6 and not a V design.

O.K. my name is Randy Lear, 47 and I'm a Radiation Tech. I travel the Duke Power nuke sites between NC and SC. I live in SC and work most of the time in NC. I stay with my son who lives in Kannapolis, NC. My first car was a 1972 340 Duster. Hemi orange with a black hood and a 4 speed. Totaled it {not my fault} and my second car was a 1969 R/T Charger 383 Auto. Sold it. Next car was a 1971 Dodge Challenger. 340 auto. I still own this car { white with black interior}. I also have a 1970 GTX with a 440-6 pak, auto. I still own 1988 Conquest TSI and 2 Dodge Stealths. But I have never owned a hemi car and the 2008 SRT-8 Challenger will be my first. Also want that in a 5speed or 6speed. My oldest son beat me to the punch and he owns a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T with a 5.7 HEMI. My youngest son really owns 1 of the Stealths, but its in my name. He also owns a Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. My oldest son also owns 1 Conquest TSI, 3000 GT and a 1992 Stealth TT with 91000 miles. So you see we love our Chryslers. I've only owned Chryslers. Through the lean years of the 80's and 90's I waited for Dodge to bring back the muscle car and now that day has arrived. I'm saving my pennies and hope to be ready when the Challenger arrives. Ya'll take it easy and be safe. Randy.
