RE: KITT=MUSTANG...That's just wrong
Hey, Pontiac flat-out refuses to bring back the Firebird (despite very obvious demand for one)... I say good for Ford. Support a company that actually cares about its customer base.

Yep. If the customers want it, then sell it.
Oddly though, I'm sure will remember Ford's quote about Model T's right? "They can have any color they want, as long as it's black!" They've come a long way, and I hope they are rewarded for listening to the customers, like you say, Yankee.

All I'm saying is that they should have stuck with the mid to late-80's firebirds, When they did the remake of the dukes of hazzard they kept in with the original car, the same with starsky and hutch. the cars were pretty much the main characters. I mean honestly who would want to see vanishing point with a 2009 chevy camaro?

One picture I saw showed it in an orange color. I don't like this either. I would do one of four things: 1. get an 2006 GTO and make K.I.T.T. out of that, 2. get a 2002 WS6 Trans Am and use that, 3. Fix up an 80s Trans Am and use that just as the Dukes of Hazzard used the same model Charger in the movie as in the show, or 4. Go with a Challenger (I'm sorry but I'm bias towards the Challenger and think you all know why).
The current Mustang does not make sense to use. K.I.T.T. was not supposed to be a classic muscle car in its styling and technology according to the story line, he was supposed to be the car of tomorrow and the current Mustang hardly looks like the car of tomorrow from both the exterior and interior, plus Mustangs are used all of the time these days in movies, how about something different for a change (I'm really getting bored of seeing Mustangs in every single movie). The WS6 Trans Am could fit since it does look higher tech on the exterior and he interior looked modern. The 80s would fit because that is what they used in the series. The GTO although it used warmed over styling could work after a few exterior mods as it looks more futuristic than the current Mustang. Although the Challenger is based from the classic Challenger. There are parts of the Challenger that look high tech and could work (but I know that will never happen but I can dream can't I).
Regardless which car they use, K.I.T.T. should be all black. Keep it as close to the series as possible is my theory. I also question the use of a model that has KR for last two letters to its name, maybe for K.A.R.R., but not for K.I.T.T.
No, my guess is they would use a Sprinter.

I think that it could go either way with any of those cars, but one example to the bad side is smoky and the bandit. It just wasnt the same movie after they changed the car.

I think it is just wrong trying to bring the story back, They tried in 2000. Remember KITT 2000? These F"N writers want even more money than they get now and ruining thousands of peoples jobs by striking, but they can't even come up with something original. F them all[sm=icon_beat.gif]

The sad thing is I find myself watching things on independent websites with writers who offer original material that is actually funny and the best part is it is free without any commercials. I also have a collection of DVDs from shows through the 80s and 90s of shows that were actually funny. Why wait for a writer to mess up the plot and story line in a new movie when I can watch the original. When I heard about the writers going on strike I thought "Good, now maybe this will be a chance for the independent writers who actually have talent and a sense of humor to break through and make television interesting again."
Sorry that your wife is suffering from this, TechmanBD. I hope it doesn't last too long. Just please avoid making references to certain words is all I ask.

RE: KITT=MUSTANG...That's just wrong
a silver camaro would fit KITT. The hu8nk of a car (in silver) looks like a spaceship anyway.
And the big grill would be perfect for the light.
In the 80's the Camaro looked like a F-bird, whynot.

GT500KR (King of the Road) or Knight Rider?
Right now, that's the most badass looking car on the road. You could argue a black Z06 is meaner. Looks like Ford's product placement guys just want it more. Got a Mustang as the bad car in Transformers and the GT500 is featured in I Am Legend. Now they have the KITT car. And they have something close to it in the showrooms. GM and Chrysler have nothing but the Vette.
