Default More to Chrysler's Inventory Paradigm Shift

Restating Chrysler's desire to move to a more JIT approach. Pokes a little fun at Toyota....reliable but a bit vapid....."who wants to drive an appliance"......lol......

That sums up my impression about Toyota's products. In my view point, they are as exciting as Oldsmobile was during their last days.

I'd say they have two models that look slightly original form the rest of their lineup: the Matrix & the FJ. Other than that I agree they are bland. Must be people like it because their sales demonstrate people are buying. The Prius is one of the single ugliest cars in recent memory....ranks right down there with the Pacer in my book.

Yep. The FJ is tight. Looks like the old LandCruiser of the 70's.....only problem is for a smaller SUV it's gas consumption is abysmal.

Just found this in other article pertinent to this thread.....

http://blogs.motortrend.com/6218374/...oul/index.html

Pretty good quotes and further information...making allusions to SRT....

.....* SRT is an important piece of the business. "What Chrysler gets is there are some people who don't want to drive an appliance." But the company needs to focus on the mainstream, too. "A lot of people do [want to drive an appliance] and we have to build better appliances for them."......

* More diesels are coming, too. "Mercedes-Benz will continue to supply us with diesel engines."
In what? Passenger cars and Jeeps? Trucks are going to be continued by Cummins, right?

Everything will eventually be a hybrid. The day that happens is the day I completely turn my back on Chrysler and everyone else that has taken that approach. I believe what he means by MB will still supply them with Diesels is MB will continue to be their supplier for smaller diesels for the GC and models like that. I'm sure Dodge will stick with Cummins since it is the only one in the industry that has already met the standards for 2010. I'm glad they see the value of the SRT line.
