Not much of a surprise, really. Some people here are all pumped up about the possibility of the 6.4 Hemi as an option for the Challenger... and I've been saying I seriously don't think that engine will see the light of day because of the same reason GM axed the Z/28. Such an engine in the days of near-$4 a gallon gas will be an awfully hard sell to the bean counters, even with the price of gas dropping. If the 6.1 can only manage a mere 18 MPG on the highway, imagine how bad a 6.4 would be. [sm=yikesomg.gif]

I hope I'm wrong... only time will tell.

the z28 will come they are just saying that. They need something to compete with the gt500 and a supercharged ls3 will do it.

yep that is exactly what they have been saying. let me put it this way.

They just made the zr1
now they announced the cadilac cts v with the supecharged ls3 or lsa w.e
they also just announced the cts v coupe with the SC ls3

so it is kind of obvious they have the z28 waiting for dodge to come out with its 6.4 or for them to find the right time.

 

they may wait and see what the new dodge srt and shelby numbers will be so they can tune it to out preform them
