HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Unique Performance and Foose Design have transformed original 1970 and 1971 Dodge Challengers with contemporary wheels, engines, suspensions, transmissions and interiors. The limited-edition supercars are on sale now, with a price tag starting at $189,000.
Engine choices include a 360-horsepower 5.7-liter "modern" Hemi or a 540-hp Mopar 426 Hemi linked to a Tremec TKO five-speed transmission and a custom hydraulic clutch. The Foose Challenger features a Unique Performance Products rear suspension, Baer four-wheel disc brakes, staggered Foose wheels and BFGoodrich tires. Styling cues include Foose emblems, a custom front grille, shaved bumpers and a custom hood. Each car has a unique serial number.
Interior features include two-tone high bucket seats in either vinyl or leather with suede inserts, a carbon-fiber gauge package and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The first production Foose Challenger will be sold at the 2007 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
What this means to you: If the Foose name is what you're after, this Challenger is a steal. If you're just looking for a nicely built Challenger, you're better off getting an original and building it yourself.
For a mere $200,000 you, too, can own a Foose Challenger.

now, i understand that we have alot of people here who really love foose's work, but in cases like this, i just dont see it.
i mean, with enough capital, i can buy up a couple old challengers, design a whacky paint scheme, and drop in basic bolt on items and a crate motor, along with some flashy interior trim and some massive gawdy wheels...and for the record, the wheels are what REALLY sour me on everything that foose does. nothing like ridiculous rotational mass to ruin a cars performance ability.

Here's another one he just did for a customer.... a '72, I think. Don't care too much for this one either, but to each his own.

I like the paint on the 2nd pic.
The first pic I don't like it at all. Something about it just doesn't look right to me. I think the wheels are too big or something, well just my opinion.

The side dashed line is way too tall compared to the '70's version of the dashed line and the wheels look deeper than normal.

I appreciate the hard work and craftmanship it is a work of art to those that like the modified look, I on the other hand love the look of the musclecars of the sixties and early seventies and this "look" detracts too much from that.
