There is nothing wrong wit the charger
My favorite cars are the charger and the challenger, the new charger is a four door I see nothing wrong with that. two door market is not a safe market, dodge wanted to bring back a legend and create a new legend at the same time. Why dont you like it???

because its too slow...
because it doesnt have a manaul transmission...
because ive driven one, and it handled poorly, and wasnt as comfortable as i expected for a sedan of that price...
because its priced WAY too high for what it is...

My problem is that it had two doors too many for the name badge it wears. Its not a bad looking sedan but yet kind of fugly for a Charger.
Really? 'Cause the magazines rave about it. What trim level Charger are we talking about here?

'Cause it is a boat anchor. Too heavy and too big.

Your original post answers the question. Four doors. This does not honor the tradition of the Charger IMHO. Quarter mile times are also less than desired. I believe the new Challenger can honor its tradition. It takes more than a name plate to sway me.

RE: There is nothing wrong wit the charger
I would prefer it to be a two-door as well but the problem is two-doors don't sell as well as they used to. The car itself I love. The power is excellent, the interior is luxury car level, the ride is the perfect compromise between comfort and performance, it offers a lot of nice options, it has a "do you feel lucky, punk?" glare from the front. I love the Charger and I am considering one, I just wish they would have called it the Coronet instead.
Patrick, I have to disagree with you on it being overpriced. The only other vehicles that offers a mildly similar package are the '06 Impala SS/Grand Prix GXP twins, the Cadillac STS, and the Crown Victoria/Grand Marquire/Town Car. The W-body cars (Impala/Grand Prix) is FWD, is using a very outdated platform, using a very outdated 4-speed transmission, offers lower quality interior, and looks dull in my bias opinion. The Cadillac STS offers a similar package but costs a lot more, it offers a few more opinions but not that much more. The Crown Victoria platform is from the stone age, with a gutless engine, outdated interior styling, outdated 4-speed with no manumatic, starts off at a higher price at base models and tops out a comparable price. The Mercury is slightly more expensive, and the Lincoln is much more expensive. So why do you think it is overpriced?

RE: There is nothing wrong wit the charger
hmm..interest point, but yes, i think that i still do find it overpriced. Dodge made a point of pitting the charger against the mustang...the whole "bullitt rematch"...and while the charger may beat the mustang GT in some categories, when equipped with enough power to actually outrun the mustang, it is priced substantially higher than the GT. per fords website, you can get into a GT for around 25k, but to get into an srt8 charger, which is the only model which will compete, stock for stock, youre look at an extra ten thousand dollars! [:@]
now, some people will say "youre comparing dodges high end to the mustangs mid range", but for those who dont live near detroit and dont make it to the dodge buyers events, they had this BIG to-do putting the charger Rt versus the mustang GT, and they kept making bullitt comments...but the events in which they had the GT versus RT were set up so that the charger always won. real time drag strip numbers speak for themselves, and the GT will stomp the RT...on the other hand, the SRT8 will hang right with a stock GT, if not beat it...and to do that, youre talking about a 35k car, versus a 25k car...[:'(]
and the only performance minded, rwd, v8 sedan that i can think of is the marauder, and there are some VERY fast mercs around here...but i dont know how those are priced.
