Here is my complaint about the poll. And nothing against the Challenger and I do hope it comes out and sticks around, but the question is "what is the most SUCCESSFUL concept?". How can they put the Challenger on the list when it isn't out yet, so there is no basis on if it is successful or not.

TechmanBD....that is why I started the poll on how do you measure success? Yes that was me.

I had a feeling that was you, I actually posted here before I read your entry there. Plus what a pain, they have a write in, why not a choosing poll like we can do here.

Out of the list show, minus the Challenger as I don't feel there isn't enough criteria to name it Successful, here is the order I would put them in from successful to less successful. Oh and minus the Durango Hybrid as well as it is in the same boat as the Challenger.

–Jeep Z5 Concept 1 (Grand Cherokee predecessor, 1989) - Because it became the Grand Cherekee - doing well
–Dodge Viper (1989)
–Dodge Neon (1990)
–Chrysler 300C (New York 2003)

Perhaps I'm wrong here but I undertsood it to mean the success of the "concept" car. Like, did it generate a serious following from potential buyers, how much press did it get from car magazines, what are the car collectors saying about the car??

Am I off base here?

That is the problem is they never give their definition of success.

Paladin, it is hard to say since they lumped concepts from the past with a couple of new, it is confusing. As if they lumped all the new concepts, then I would agree with what you are saying, but with the older models, I would think what is still around and what sold well to be the criteria.

I think they mean hype of the concept and popularity.

as for a new engine i think the should put a 472 in th production and a 528 in the Super Stock if the 500horse Camaro rumor is true.

472 will give em' a run.
