OK why are fallowing now considered, by some, to be "Chick Cars?":
F-body GMs (especially the later models)
Mustangs
3000 GT
Prelude
Supra
Eclipse

If this is true then what are the "Guy Cars" then?:
Yugo
Grand Marquis
Lummia
Caravan
pickups with 2 liter motors
Gutless.... I mean Cutless Seria (had one it sucked)

Can anybody explain this?

I know I've heard of Camaros being called chick cars, but never Firebirds. Most of the people I know who have Mustangs are guys. I can't think of any girls I know that own an 3000 GT. I know both guys and girls who own Eclipse. I don't know anyone who owns a Prelude. The only person I know who has a Supra is a chick. I guess trucks and SUVs are considered "Guy Cars." My definition of a chick car are Chevy Cavaliers (and the Pontiac versions), Ford Focus/Escort, last model Camaro, some minivans, FWD SUVs (or the more accurate term for them "minivans without sliding doors"), etc. I consider a Cutlass Ciera to be a granny mobile, because that is normally the type of people who bought them, (or extreme cheap skates with no taste).

The problem with the F-bodies and the mustangs is that they but a V6 in them with an auto, 99% of women don't care about power or wanting to spend a alot of money on a car. so a v6 mustang looks great and ok on gas so chicks go for them.

The Mustang was originally marketed by Ford as "The Secretary's Car" because of the size, look, and price. Kinda explains the "Chick Car" moniker.
The other cars you listed - I can't explain.

Around here (in Upstate NY), based on the numbers of them that I see, almost all of the young men want / drive an Eclipse (my Step Son has one - it's in the garage more than it's under his @$$ - LMAO!), Honda coupes (Accords or Civics), and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions.
"Chick Cars" here primarily include Honda Civics, Toyota GTs, VW Jettas, Minis, Dodge Neons, Pontiac Solstice's / Saturn Skys and Chevy Cobalts.
Adult men seem to prefer pickup trucks, Dodge Chargers, Magnums and 300's, Chevy Monte Carlos, and Jeep Wranglers.
Adult women seem to prefer minivans and SUV's (soccer Mom's).

Aside from "fleet / business vehicles", I think a car's "status" as being a "Chick Car" or otherwise is regional and changes depending on where you live.

I think this is a fun topic actually. Chick cars vs. Guy cars. Hee Hee.

I'll throw one in for ya. I think Jeeps are kinda "Chicky" and unless I see a real beater covered in mud I'd give you 20 to 1 odds when we roll up next to it you have a woman driving it.

I drive an F150 so I guess I fall into that guy category nicely.

LOL! I had a 1983 Cutlass Cierra in high school! It never got the chicks but it had plenty of fun rides with chicks in them!

I am not sure I agree with that last statement.

My wife drives an F-150 Supercrew and that is all she drives and she loves to drive trucks.

A lot of ladies drive trucks in Texas but then Texas buys more Ford trucks than the rest of the U. S. put together.

I don't know about that last statement, Jeremiah. I've always heard that the only two places in the world where more pickups were sold than in Texas were the rest of the U.S. and Canada. At any rate, there's definitely too damn many of 'em here! [:@]

As to the "chick cars" stuff, I always heard the notchback Mustangs referred to as chick cars. Fastbacks were always considered guy cars. That, of course, was 1970s classification.

Hmm, In the adult world where women and men can afford say the Mustang GT price, I see more women driving the V6. They like the look of it and all but don't necessarily need the power as where the men want the V8 as our testostorme levels are much higher and have to prove our manlihood.
