RE: Crazy speeds on two wheels
Yes, I haven't tried top speed nor will I unless I go to the salt flats or something like that. I still had some RPM's to go. Red line on my bike if i remember is 115 or 12-5, can't recall, and I was around probably 8.
It is a wierd feeling blowing by a Semi. Gets kind of scary. Probably from the wind going around the vehicle and the bike gets sucked into it.

the way that i understand it, is that around most cars wind travels at a hgih rate of speed...if you ever see video of a car in wind tunnel testing, the smoke tucks over and around the car. as the wind sucks back in behind the car at highway speeds, it creates vacuum which is enough to cause some pull to the light rear end of a bike....you can even feel this in a car when you pass a semi, and it is especially bad if youre driving something like a motor home, with a large flat side, and you pass a semi at high speeds, because the two flat surfaces, pull each other together...
here is a very crude illustration...

Thank you both for explaining that. Now that I think about it that way, it makes sense.

RE: Crazy speeds on two wheels
I've hit 189 (GPS verified) on my old Busa. 170 (indicated) at California Speedway main straight (AMA configuration). Hitting those speeds on new Literbikes and Hyperbikes (ZX14 and Busa) are no problem nowadays. With improved aeros and HP (160+rwhp) it's pretty common. If it weren't for the worldwide restrictions on top speed (186 mph/300 k/hr) bikes should be in the high 190 mph low 200 mph range by now.
BTW- for the ppl that think a Busa can't turn, some track day pics of my knee touching TARMAC.
before I sold her
My new Track weapon of choice:
Yes. Thats my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T in the background:
Anyhows, can't wait till the challenger comes out. Good to see some 2 wheel bros on here.
peace.

Yep, a real threat, haha. She is a sweet dog, loves everyone. SOmetimes I think that if someone actually invaded the house she would lick them to death. BUT had an instance about 6 months ago some drugged out dude was trying to get in the house at 2 in the morning. First time I ever heard her get mean. So now I know she can bring out the german sheppard side of her. The guy tried to break into the house next door and had a 9 mil in his face. Then took off. We think he was just so f'd up he didn't know where he was.
