Thumbs up SRT Moves Up a Notch

Motor Trend tested the 2010 SRT, Camaro SS, and Mustang GT. I guess GM stopped paying MT, because the now SRT finished AHEAD of the Camaro in 2nd place. Check out the video:

I think it was a fair result. The Mustang does the most with the least, and they'd be crucified for not picking it first. The Camaro made a big splash, but it seems like once people got used to it's styling, the enthusiasm cooled off a little bit. The Challenger is behind by the numbers, but its advantages in style, comfort and character merit the 2nd place ranking. In a contest of speed per dollar it still loses, but more of the testers said they'd want to own it compared to the Camaro.

Now that the feeding frenzy of Camaro enthusiasm is cooling a bit it appears as if a lot of people are now looking at the big three (Challenger, Camaro, Mustang) in a different light. While the Challenger will never be as popular as the Camaro or Mustang, (a good thing) it appears as if those in the know are looking at the Challenger in a much fairer light after having “lived” with the Camaro for a bit of time. While the Challenger may (or may not) be as fast as the “other” two, many are asking, is speed really the most important consideration to most buyers? I believe that looks, handling, and comfort are more important considerations to most buyers that have to live with their vehicle day in and day out. Looking at the three in a fair light will find that the Challenger rules in these three areas………(Just my two cents)
